The user interface, or UI for short, refers to the various on-screen elements and menus through which a player interacts with the game. The UI in FFXIV can be adjusted in myriad ways to ensure an enjoyable gaming experience.

Combat / Targeting
The color of target rings and the arrows that appear below targets can be changed from Display Name Settings in Character Configuration. Under each tab, a colored dot next to the various types of target indicated the color used for the target ring.
* Changing these settings also affects the color used for the display name and associated icons.
Changing the Color of the Enemy Target Ring
First, access the NPCs tab of Display Name Settings. There are four options that affect enemies, and you can select a color for each one separately. Selecting a colored dot will allow you to change the color. Once you have finished making your selections, press Apply to save your changes.
1. Unengaged Enemies
Enemies currently not involved in combat.
2. Engaged Enemies
Enemies that you or a party member has attacked.
3. Claimed Enemies
Enemies attacked by another player who is not a party member.
4. Unclaimed Enemies
Enemies attacking you or party members, or in a group with other enemies but not yet attacking.
