Equipment that reaches zero durability will not grant your character any benefits, such as stat increases, whatsoever. Therefore, when an item drops to zero durability, your character's stats will decrease accordingly.
* If an item reaches zero durability, it will remain in your inventory and may be repaired.
Having equipment reach zero durability during a duty is especially problematic. Tanks will find it harder to generate enmity, DPS will deal less damage, and healers will restore less HP and have less MP with which to do so. For that reason, it is best to keep your gear in good condition at all times.
