Gear and Inventory / Repair
To repair your own gear, you must have a high enough Repair Level and materials known as Dark Matter .
Dark matter comes in various grades, and the item help window for each piece of equipment shows the grade of dark matter required to repair it.
You can obtain dark matter from vendors, market boards, and Grand Company quartermasters.
Provided that you have the requisite dark matter in your inventory, you can repair your own gear in practically any location.
To Repair Your Own Gear
Open the subcommands for an item you wish to repair and select "Repair." This will display a list of all of the items that can be repaired, and you will be given the option to "Repair All."
* You do not need to change character class to repair your own gear.
Repair Your Own Gear and Exceed 100% Durability
While menders can restore your gear to 100% durability, repairing it yourself allows you to exceed this, and have the item last even longer than usual.
For example, repairing an item that is at 99% durability will increase it to 199%.
* Placing an item in an armoire will reset its durability to 100%, even if it was previously higher.
