For Magic, that could be a Hempen Hat.
For War, that could be a Leather Eyepatch.
There should be vendors near by, or back in Hawkers Alley (Vendor is named Iron Thunder). If you ran out of Gil from buying something else, do some of the other quests near the main city big crystal. You'll need about 150 Gil as of 7.0.
The quest really should either have given a head piece by the quest that took you out the boonies or gave a bit of Gill and lead you to a vendor to buy one.
