Yeah, if you're gonna use one of the lure skills on this, use modest lure. This is a "!" catch, the comment about using ambitious lure led me totally astray lol.

It gives an auditive alert 1 sec b4 manually having to hook Gonzalo's Grace, literally just b4 having to manually hook, if you don't get a bite after the auditive alert just let the macro run automatic until next manual hook alert or having to restart the macro (which the macro also has an auditive alert for that). The macro automatically will catch the 12 seconds bite Gonzalo's Grace and it alerts you to manually hook the 6 seconds ones and between.

Restart the macro if you get the fish to get Prize Catch buff up

If you are doing it at lvl 100. Cast, Ambitious Lure x3, it pops a short second after,follow up w/ identical cast. After use aetherial reduction, sometimes you will get the bonus! Happy fishing!

The macro Raijen Avanya posted has been the comfiest for me. Just change the first wait to 1.5 if you're an Australian on the wrong datacenter :)

2024, cave entrance I used was at 11.3, 16.2, -4.2. I used a 12 second limit on cast time, got zero by-catch. Used only Identical Cast. Took a few minutes. Generally no more than 5 casts between bites.

All the macros I've seen are pretty valid, fishing locations are spot on too.

Though, edited my own version of the macro for a bit of help catching the earlier bites, while still pulling at the 12 second mark to avoid any bait loss from other fish. Prize catch users for the win.

I followed many people's comments but what worked best for me was:

-The tempest, x5 y13 (You have to go into a cave, I got lost xD)
-Select Bait Ball

-and then the macro:

/micon "Cast"

(Hook earlier if it appears at like 7 secs, etc.)

-I didn't use patience or anything else, the only other thing I did was when I caught one I then used "Identical Cast".

The catch rate on these is absolutely disgusting and if I never see one again, it'll be too soon.
The amount of times I burnt through the entirety of Patience II without catching anything, my average was probably something like 0.000001

Tricky fish, so do use the macro below to not catch anything outside the window, BUT use Hook by yourself as well, when it bites, like some said it can bite early.

AND if you use Identical cast, it will sometimes bite later than 12s, so the macro isn't reliable, so improvise :D

Lokier Ame's macro for this is good—I found 12s was about as high as you can go without wasting bait on crabs. Unfortunately this fish is kinda GP-intensive no matter what; I found Prize Catch / Identical Cast was slightly more efficient, but I agree that it really does come down to personal preference and RNG luck. As others have said, be aware that even with the macro, you might have to press Hook yourself for early bites.

Used Lokier Ame's macro, and it was pure gold.Only used 4 hi-cordials for gp but otherwise depended on angler's art, and natural regen and still finished in about half an hour. Also this is probably common knowledge and I'm late to the party on this, but use aetherial reduction on these bad boys, there's always a chance to get double the reward which means less time fishing for the same fish.

12 second was good for me for not getting crabs but did tend to miss some catches. If you try 11 seconds you shouldnt miss any hooks with the macro but I did catch some in that final second as well.

Will say, I enjoy Lokier Ame's macros. Had to cut down the wait time to 10 instead of the 12 as it's lost me a number of potential catches. Not sure why but 10 has been working fine

followed the macro lokier ame posted, it is a bit of a slower process but pretty much almost no crabs (got 1 crab after 22 gonzalo's grace). i modified the macro and manually used precision hookset to speed things up.

used patience 2 as they've recommended. popped HQ cordial on cd (w/o overcapping on GP) to always keep patience 2 up.

Personal preference is going to be a big factor in this one, but I personally preferred this macro alongside Patience II;

I didn't get a bite any earlier than 7.5s or later than 11.5s, with this macro specifically ignoring any bites later to avoid other fish for this method, as comments below forewarned.

I went with 12 seconds. Didn't get a single crab and gave me one more second in the catch window.
