Started at 10am ET got it at 12:45pm. Clear Skies, Yumizuno Bait. No Patience, and Regular Hook oddly. Didn't realize Patience had worn off and then I just prayed the regular Hook would work 😅

To anyone still trying, Don't lose hope!

I spent hours and hours trying to get this fish when I was the level you can access it via the quest. I used the right bait, right weather condition and right time. Finally, I decided to just level up and get lvl60 gear. Then I tried it. Began at 9am and by 10:45 am, I got it.

Bait: Yumizuno (I created mine, since I had high lvl crafters)
Level: 63
Time: 9am - 10:45am
Weather: Fair Skies
Gathering: 702
Perception: 575

Snagging ON > Patience I > Cast > let everything not !!! go > Powerful Hookset at !!!

Location is important. Make sure you are at x: 30.3 y: 30.1 z: 0.5. The fishing hole will be called "Brewer's Beacon". You want to be FACING the docked ships. If you fish on the other side, you will be fishing at the fishing hole called "Swiftperch", which is the WRONG place.

yumizuno bait, snagging on, surface slap, release other fish, normal hook, gathering 1928, perception 1571.

4am ET - Fair skies - Versatile Lure - The Brewer's Beacon (Western La Noscea 30,31).

I tried all the recommendations in the comments and nothing worked until I swapped to a versatile lure and fished in fair skies. Let everything go that wasn't !!!.

Got this after many hours and countless of frustration points of trying different timings and weather conditions.

Skills: Snagging, Fish Eyes, Patience, Surface Slap on one of the fish with (!!), Hook (on !!!)

Caught apprx. 1200 ET in clear skies using the Yumizuno bait. The hardest part I had was getting the weather to cooperate. It kept getting windy at 0800 ET and I had to abandon the chase.

Catch was easy and caught it on the 4th cast. 1st cast, used Chum beforehand and the first fish I caught, I used Surface Slap and didn't attempt a catch until I got a !!! bite. Anything else, I let the bite ride and recast with Chum. 4th cast, !!!. If only the future ones were going to be this easy xD

For me it was straight forward (close to comment from Persephone Aquanis):

- Location: Brewer Beach around X30.5 / Y30.5.
- Weather: Fair skies.
- Time: Between 9pm and 11pm.
- Bait: Yumizuno.
- Method: Simple cast/hook (I didn't even use surface slap).

Every 4 fishes I got, was a Navigator's Brand, identified by getting suddenly !!! instead of just ! or !! I got 5 in total, sort of in a row.

The experiences described before my are so much different: I wonder if something was modified over the years for that fish?

Finally got one. Took me multiple days trying as the window of availability is not only small, you have to wait for the right weather (clear skies). Weird thing is, I used Patience II several times and never caught it. But Patience I worked. Probably just RNG but wanted to mention that anyways.

Started at 8 AM ET, caught 12 AM ET, Fair Skies. Only used two baits up.

Use Yumizuno tackle. Cast (no patience needed). Catch the first fish you get and use Surface Slap. Use chum as often as you can. Keep casting as usual and let any fish go that isn't (!!!). Once you get (!!!), reel it in and voila!

I tried basically everything in the book this took me like a month of coming back to this spot because the window is so particular but its just patience (II) and not losing your marbles over it : )

Spent ages fishing in the wrong fishing spot, then moved to the right spot, surface slapped the first fish and got it on the second one!

I've used different methods like chum, prize catch, patience while trying to get it. I let the fish go when it's ! or !! by not hooking just to squeeze in as many tries as possible before the weather changes.

Advice: Watch something or do something else on another screen while fishing, and don't expect to get it fast. Patience is key! (pun intended)

For anyone confused about the Yumizuno Lure, a skilled Goldsmith(level 50+) can make them.
I was able to catch this beastie with mostly HQ Forager's gear and a pair of Mythrite Gathering Goggles all maxed out with Materia, +eating some HQ stuffed Artichoke to give me a gathering rating of 354, and perception 307, though I did catch a couple of Gigant Octopi first. ^^;

after posting that last comment at 6:45pm ET, I thru everything at it and caught the stupid fish, After the alloted time one has to use Fish Eyes to counter balance the time, then through everything you have onto the line and you might get it.

I have caught every single fish in this area but as of yet after 5 tries, I have yet to catch this stupid Fish and I'm getting tired of it!!!!! Use the stupid bait, snagging, patience, everything I could use and Brand Fish!!!!

Yamizuno bait is on the market board for the people wondering it’s not only from the quest after.

For me, it's mostly the same as above:
Gathering 476, Snagging, Brewer's Beacon (Western La Noscea, x: 30.4, Y: 30.6), and 7:30am. I got two in five minutes at this time, and much longer when I tried after 9am. Hope this helps!
