While I'm still working on my log endeavor (and quite frankly taking the slower route as to not drive myself insane), I've gotten the next line of rods I'd like to talk about. These are all Lv60, though while they all share the same base name they do not necessarily share an upgrade path.
-----Tacklekeep's RodNo pictures as the rod is no longer obtainable and I did not obtain it before this was changed.I think this used to be the scrip fishing rod for Heavensward before they decided to streamline things and make the upgraded version the default purchasable rod. I can't really find much information on it right off the bat, so I'm left to assume that this rod was bought with blue scrips, and then you could upgrade it via an NPC Goblin named in Idyllshire.
Grinmox still has the capability to turn the regular Tacklekeep's Rod into the . If you happen to have the regular Tacklekeep's Rod, you just need to obtain 15 and you can trade the two to get the Augmented version.
-----Augmented Tacklekeep's RodThis rod is the upgraded version of the Tacklekeep's Rod. While the Tacklekeep's Rod is no longer obtainable, this rod isn't lost. You can just straight up purchase this rod for 250 white gatherer's scrips. Depending on how difficult it is to farm Goblin Dice at this point, even if you still have a normal Tacklekeep's Rod, I'd wager it might be easier just to farm the white scrips and buy the upgraded version instead of going to all that work.
Yet another rod where my hand meets up with the reel handle, this one has all sorts of large circular designs. I like the dark brown wood used for the handle, and naturally it's got a gold trim like most of the rods you get from feats like scrip farming or achievements. It's a cool design, but a little dull compared to the next one...
-----Blessed Tacklekeep's RodThis rod looks exactly like the Augmented version, except that I took these pictures at night because it glows! I believe this is the first fishing rod in the game to have a glow. It's a golden hue that doesn't look too bad really, though I think I prefer the light blue glow on the Skybuilders' Fishing Rod more.
This rod is attained from the achievement for having caught 460 unique fish. I think this was the total of fish in the game at the end of the Heavensward post-story patches. I could probably have been way ahead of the game in the amount of fish caught, except that I'm stubborn as all get out and I want to complete a zone before I really focus on the next one. Slow goings, but I prefer it that way.
Until next time!
