Somewhere in the deserts of Thanalan.
"Finally found a man my daughter didn't scare away!" Did you ever think why I was scaring them away?
"Tonight we celebrate as our two families will soon become one." A bigger family of idiots!
"With our combined talents and families we're sure to win the favor of the Sultana!" The sultana doesn't even know we exist!
"Aldgoat ranchers and cactus farmers! Is no limit to what us Dunefolk can do?" Smelly animals and prickly plants! There has to be something better we can do!
"Aren't you happy, Minga?"
The rather grumpy Lalafell excused herself the 'celebrations.' She wasn't exactly excited for the fate that had been decided for her.
Finding herself on a hill overlooking the desert, she stared up at the starry night, counting stars until she cooled off. Just before she managed to cool down, she heard his voice.
"There you are my little cactus flower."
Cactus flowers have thorns surrounding them, reach for them blindly and you'll end up paying for it in blood.
"Our marriage is set in motion. You'll learn to love me eventually."
I'd rather marry one of your smelly Aldgoats than the likes of you!
"It's going to be fun to watch that stubbornness of yours dry up like water and dreams in the desert. You're going to have to comes to terms with us sooner or later."
Storming back to the 'celebrations' she found mostly everyone in a drunken stupor. Only taking a moment's hesitation she grabbed a cloak and the money she had been saving. She then went off into the night, hoping to start a new life her way. Thinking that Ul'dah would be the first place anyone would look for her, she spent every cent to buy safe passage elsewhere.
And so her story began.
