As corny as it sounds, everyone has a fear. Not just a simple fear of spiders or heights, but one that goes deeper than most can comprehend. When it comes to our securities we have ways to make ourselves as a whole as a person to feel secure. But what about what lies deep within? That thing that we don't know how to let out or how to face. We all have them. It is what makes us, us. It's what drives us to proceed with what we're doing, drives us to go beyond yet slows us to show that we are still human. A truly wonderful author said it in a way that I can relate, a way that makes sense.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. Whether or not that we are believers or followers of God, our presence as human beings are powerful beyond measure. We must show that we are a person and that we are a power not to be reckoned with. Remember your personality shows what kind of person you are.
