Sakura is the second born in a trio of sisters. She and her sisters, Glacya and Lilya, were born in the frigid climate of Coerthas, then raised in the Dravanian forelands, in the village of Tailfeather.

When it comes to personality, Sakura got the forthcoming energy of her father, Za'Griel. She's energic, always ready to help and do something. While she may not be the most patient person of the family, when she sets a goal in her mind, she will pursue it until she sees it to the very end.

One thing she always dreamt to achieve, though, is to become a hero, like the ones her mother, My'riah, would tell about in her bedtime stories. The shining knight in armor who would save the princess and be loved by the people. Because of this, she always played with branches she would find in the woods around the village and roleplay as a knight. When she grew up, she got her first shorsword and some basic training from the hunters in Tailfeather.

But when it came to more menial tasks, such as gathering herbs, foraging with her mother and her sisters, as well as trying to learn how to cook and prepare some basic brews, as much as she tried to learn, she could never achieve those basics. Her mother, as patient as she is, at a certain point decided to give up and tell Sakura that the moment when she will achieve these basic things will come, most likely when she will actually need those. Until then, My'riah hopes that her daughter will at least remember her words when trying to teach her these simple but useful things.

The years would pass and Sakura's prowess with the blade grew a lot, to the point where she could go hunting alone and be back with only some scratches. Her parents and her sisters were very proud of her and started seeing in her the potential to actually become the hero of those bedtime stories she always dreamt to be a part of. When the time came to start her journey away from her family's nest and to part ways form her beloved sisters, she couldn't help herself but feel a big hole in her chest. She thought she would be ready to become an adventurer and actually start her journey towards fame.

Little did she know that said journey would bring her hardships she couldn't imagine, loss that brought her to dark emotions an become way less bright than she was at the beginning of her journey. She started her adventure in the sunny and hot Ul'dah, trained as a gladiator and then a Paladin. At the end of said training, the betrayal portrayed by some members of the guild would make her rethink about the definition of "knight in a shining armor".

When she ventured in the dark and destroyed streets of Ishgard, she would find an answer to those dark emotions, the soul crystal of the Dark Knight. Without anyone to teach her and alone in her journey, she started to work on herself, to go back at being brighter... through harnessing her deepest shadows and emotions.
