Character Profile

Regnant of Kraken's Silver Blades, a free company for introverts: The Lavender Beds, Ward 25, Plot 27

Curator of Kraken's Museum of Eorzea in Ul'dah: The Goblet, Ward 30, Plot 5

I'm a casual player with a completionist streak driving me to be better at fishing, hunts and FATEs, so much so, it's getting dangerously close to not being fun. However, I've been playing Final Fantasy games since someone gave my their old NES cartridge and maps of the first game, been hooked ever since.

As a mentor, I try to help where I can; however, I often find myself in pits where I realize I know so little about the game and all its many aspects. I have the mentor crown but don't like to show it because I lack the skills to take on the game's harder content, not even deep dungeons. More hard core players are quick to poke at that. As such, I often become socially overwhelmed and either become sarcastically snippy or utterly withdrawn. This clashes with my attempts at humor to keep it light because I'm quick to anger when someone is mean to a new player's question, or disrespectful to cut-scene watchers or an initiated ready check.

I do not care for platforming, which is why I don't like jump puzzles or some of the Gold Saucer gates, as I become frustrated easily. I also do not participate in PvP; please don't ask. During my CounterStrike days, I learned how toxic PvP can become, and I have since regarded PvP with much trepidation and as a detriment to human psyche. There's enough struggle in this world without war; we sure don't need to promote enjoyment in the digital murder of one another. Fighting fictitious people with computer controlled actions is one thing, but fighting people driven by human thought and emotions no longer sits well with me.

I don't like to maintain a friends list as that too becomes a bit socially overwhelming for me, so I may reject requests or empty any list I've felt a tad pressured to make. I may even ghost in chat if I get too uncomfortable. It truly is a case of "It's not you; it's me." Sorry if that hurts anyone, but I'm very cautious about getting too close to people. Let's just say, I've got issues.
