Daughter of Archon Tyorrad - an accomplished aether physicist - Slonya was raised outside of Keeper tribal conventions. Instead, she travelled the continents with her mother until the Archon's research brought them to Garlemald. There, Slonya was rescued from a shipwreck drowning by the young mistress of a certain noble house, thereby earning Slonya's undying gratitude and loyalty. Assigned by the lady's guardian to be her tutor, Slonya's task was to teach her about the "barbarian lands", to which she readily applied herself. Yet, the young Keeper met with much abuse outside the sight of the young mistress, particularly upon the passing of her mother. Now stranded in a hostile foreign land, Slonya was made to enter Garlean service as a foot soldier even at such a tender age. However, a series of events - not the least of which was an assassination attempt on the young mistress's life - saw the young Keeper sacrificing much to save her beloved lady. In the end, the young mistress was able to flee in the company of her fiance, though not without returning Slonya's pendant to her, the only remaining token of her late mother and one she had bid the young lady to keep on her person as a protective charm. With its return, the young mistress bid Slonya to go out into the world and live for herself, freed from the chains of misery which had bound her. And thus did Slonya's adventures begin...
