The eldest daughter of the Saikage clan, Kaede has always been something of a problem child. Her spoiled upbringing has led her to develop a ferocious temper; her tantrums are apocalyptic in scope, and she has been known to leave entire rooms looking as if they had suffered miniature Calamities. The latest of these episodes, sparked by the announcement of her betrothal to an unappealing lord, saw several thousands of gil worth of furniture reduced to splinters and a scandalous paramour dragged into her bed. In the aftermath of this incident, Kaede's parents placed her on a boat bound for Limsa, praying that such a journey would soothe their daughter's raging spirit.

For her part, Kaede enjoys her newfound freedom, even as she looks down on those around her. Although her arrogant and domineering behaviour may be off-putting, none can deny that she possesses both courage and skill, as she is usually the first to leap into a fray, hacking away with a raw fury that is difficult to withstand. At the very least, her allies can take comfort in the fact that their enemies will likely want to kill her before any of them.

That said, Kaede is capable of appreciating the talents of others, and she can be steadfastly loyal to those that win her trust... Getting to that point, however, is a Trial unto itself.
