Kahori's New Pet Owlet Introduces Himself

Public
Hello, adventurers of Eorzea. My name is Maiko Natsuma, the Lord Hooters. I am an owlet with an Au Ra-style name, although my master, Lady Kahori Harukawa of which she prefers to be referred by me as Miss Kahori, is a Hyur with a similar Au Ra name. Now you may be wondering why I have an Au Ra name. Well, as it goes, my master is from the Earthen realm of Japan, which uses Au Ra names, and to make things convenient, she gave me a name in that style, as well as decidedly more Western appelations with a lordship and a Hyur alternate name of Michael.

You may also be wondering why I am referred to as Lord Hooters. Well, as an owlet, out loud I make a hooting sound. But through telekinesis, I can community with Miss Kahori in her native tongue of Japanese. She is also fluent in the Earthen language of English, and so, on this Lodestone service, I will communicate with you esteemed adventurers of distinguished character and honor in English.

I believe in the power of mind over matter. I implore Miss Kahori that at some point, embracing the ability to use books to heal the affected and channel the mystique of the aether, the echo, the flow and all those related elements connected in all sorts of ways will prove useful in future journeys and humanitarian efforts in Gyr Abania and Othard. But Miss Kahori's true strength lies in her commitment to gather and craft items and implore two of her retainers to answer to a proud calling to conjury and fishing, respectively.

Miss Kahori has already sealed her reputation as a reliable hand during duties, trials, dungeons runs and other operations. But I observed firsthand the potential she has crafting and gathering items. One day, she forged some steel to make ingots and rivets and plate that would be used to create items to be sold through her Kogane-based retainer, Miss Kana Hanazawa. Later in the day, Miss Kahori and I went to the Mist Beach to test the spoon worm bait she garned.

The end result was a trove of ash tuna, fullmoon sardines, a nautilus, a couple of blue octopi, and other high quality catches that were sent to Miss Kana and her Gridania-based retainer, Miss Natsuki Suzuura, for selling. The sardines and the mooched catches resulted in her level raised to 35, meaning she could try what is called skyfishing. However, Miss Kahori disclosed that she wanted to learn spearfishing and emulate those skilled in the trade from the numerous Pacific island realms of Earth. I replied, "You will acquire that ability in due time, Miss Kahori; patience is an important virtue. An adventurer of your statue would know this by now."

Aside from her eagerness to learn and think on the fly, her maturity and skill set since she first came to Eorzea has become significant in every shape and form. Perching on her should allows me to communicate with her and evaluate her overall progress. I have no doubt in my mind that Miss Kahori will be on to good things and confidently resume her efforts on the other side of Hydaelyn. Of course, as I said to her before and to remind you all, patience is a virtue.

I humbly thank you for reading my words, transcribed by Miss Kahori herself. Until next time, Woods Will Be Done and may you walk in the light of the Crystal.
