The addition of the garleans as a playable race is Long overdue .
-Gone are the excuses of old
= They are too similar to hyur to be a different race ( they are literally a different race in game itself the existence of the game alone makes this point rediculas to make. Because they already ARE a different in game race )
= They dont have enough options to creation ( they range in body from hyur like build to elezan like build and everything in between. you could literally spend ages tryng to make one )
= They cant use magic ( literally been disproven ... the majority are magic defissiant but not all and the inability comes from not being able to minipulate aether not the lack of having it . aether is in everything its the building block of existance them not having any is just not a possibility and notable exceptions can use aether to an extent, Livia' physical enhance, Lucia's PLD skill usage , Zenost ...All of stormblood pre fake echo, the scientist exposition outlined the issue with garleans and magic in stormblood as well and the backstory as well as how zenos is referred to as a monster by his father.)
- NOTE: the excuse that they cant in total use magic itself is to deny the game itself that says otherwise it would be smarter to drop that talking ppoint then to pretend it makes any sense.
=The garleans are evil ( the races are not a monolyth they are not all bad ppl there exist no specifically evil race and to pretend that is the case is extremely toxic ... if someone can look at fiction and write off a whole race as to be exterminated on moral differences then not only is the one that says they are all evil " the real evil one " but it shows a willingness to do the same irl )
- Lastly im a firm believer in player choice when it comes to role playing that is especially true . As such my stance is NO sentiant race should be barred from character creation. My choice in pointing at garleans this tome is because
- of the requested races not added it is the oldest and by far most requested. being asked for since mid 1.0 to present.
Those are good points. Garleans as citizens aren't evil, it's just that their government was ruled by a family of conquistadors.
Zenos also had no interest in the throne and only cared about the hunt.
