赤魔道士のスキル名には何故ヴァルがつくのか

疑問に思ってググってみたら、丁度同じ疑問について議論しているredditのフォーラムがあった。

例えばヴァルストーンは英語でverstoneで、接頭辞としてver-が付いているのが分かる。

ver-の意味する説として以下のものが候補にあがっていた。
・ラテン語で真実を意味するveritasに由来
・フランス語で緑を意味するvertに由来
・英語で朱色を意味するvermilionに由来

個人的には朱色を意味するヴァーミリオンが由来であるとする説に賛成だ。
ヴァーミリオンという色は純粋な赤よりは黄みがかった明るい赤。
因みに、赤魔道士が追加された拡張パッケージである紅蓮のリベレーターの紅蓮とは、読んで字の如く赤いハスの花の事。
「赤い」といっても、赤いハスの赤は、ピンクやマゼンタに近い色味である。
