Many years ago, a mi'qote was born to the S tribe given the moniker S'lurh. S'lurh was a helpful child, always taking on extra chores or helping other tribesmembers find lost toys. She also was untoward to any bullies, often fighting them directly when they bullied her friends. She even often won those fights against older tribeskin. The adults of her tribe knew she was destined for greatness.
When S'lurh was ten years old, somebody peculiar visited the S tribe. He was an au'ra hunter looking for an apprentice. The adults nominated S'lurh and the hunter agreed she would be a suitable candidate, but would only train her under one condition: She must give up her name. After deliberating for five seconds, S'lurh punched her fists together and agreed to these terms.
The hunter took the mi'qote to the far east to a beach known as Phon Beach, not too far from Dalmasca. On the beach was a wooden building home to many hunters, each having given up their prior name to join this clan Phon. Upon arrive, the hunter called for a meeting. There, he asked her what her favorite flower was? She responded Jasmine and the hunter proclaimed "Then you shall be known as Jashi" to all. And so, Jashi Phon got her new name.
She trained under this hunter and the others. She helped slay many beasts and years passed. One day, she heard about a great calamity that had shook Eorzea. Knowing her talents would be put to good use, she traveled.

Jashi Phon is often under a mysterious poison that shrinks her stature and makes her look more like a lalafell. Do not be deceived. She's still a miqo'te.
