Trials of Fire - Ifrit's Grimoire (Part 2)

Public
With an intense roar and a flashy show that only the Amalj'aa could possibly appreciate, Ifrit arrived on the battlefield like a raging demon lusting for blood. Although not voidkin, Ifrit's lust for battle was almost insatiable, and matched that of one sent from the Void.

Without waiting for an announcement, we all charged toward the demon, unleashing a variety of abilities upon the scorched flesh of the Primal of Fire. To compare the encounter to my previous one with him would be a complete understatement. Eddies of fire exploded all across the field as I desperately tried to dodge and cast my spells of Ruin upon him. Ifrit created manifestations of himself, each more real than the last that charged across the land, searing the clothing of those who managed to just avoid a collision, and critically injuring those who didn't. I must say that I appreciated the assistance of a dear friend, and Ren Geki member, Mateus Sylvarde, who was consistent in rising my broken and battered body from the floor on quite a number of occasions.

When I thought that it couldn't get any worse, Ifrit created not one, but four Nails that had to be taken down before he used his final move. Luckily we avoided being killed by the raging flames of judgement that he poured over us - however things only got more intense from there. Nowhere was safe to stand as flames erupted from the ground all across the field, and Ifrit charged, knocking Adventurers aside as if they were the play toys of a Hyur child.

Finally, the party managed to subdue the Lord of the Inferno, using our combined power to vanquish his soul back to whence he came. In the midst of the battle, and unnoticed by the other Adventurers, a book of immense power had materialised upon the playing field. Sensing the energy radiating from the Grimoire, I approached with great hesitancy. The book in question was an ancient tome that bared great resemblance to Ifrit, and was perhaps an ancient weapon of the Amalj'aa of old. I tentatively bent down and collected the tome, which was warm to the touch, and stashed it within my Armoury Chest for later appraisal.

I left that battlefield with nary a thought but for returning to The Goblet to have a nice hot bath, to wash away the burning sensation of the embers, the soot, and the memories of the intense battle.

***OOC - I can't believe that I got Ifrit's Grimoire on the first try. I feel like a very lucky man, indeed! ***

I wasn't sure what you meant by "little face thing", and then I realised it was the avatar expression. Haha. :P
