▶ Our Events (and why we want you):

SleepingDragons is first and foremost a FFXIV Free Company, and most of our events take place in game. Some examples of our regular events include:

Classic Raids and Classic Trials - We are currently hoping to recruit members who have an interest in experiencing some of the challenging content from previous expansions in a relaxed and fun environment. Classic Raids is a weekly raid group with an open sign up, where players can experience older content in synced encounters. Many of our players enjoy going back to play through Coils, Alexander Savage, and other tiers of skill-demanding content together. This group includes a mix of newer and veteran players, and is open to any skill level.
For any players interested that have not tried savage content or raiding before (or are too early in MSQ to join endgame), consider this a learning group that works together with good communication, and will let you try out tougher content in a relaxed and friendly way. You’ll get a chance to learn about tactics, coordination, handling group mechanics and working as part of a team, without pressure to clear fights at a rapid pace.

Casual Wednesdays - Our weekly evening hang out takes place on Wednesdays, where any FC member is free to suggest some casual content. Relax with us on voice chat while we mount farm, chase after fate achievements, hunt for maps or marks, or any proposed activity that can be done as a group! Casual Wednesday is all about taking a mid-week chance to play some lazy content and get to know each other better, and we try to take suggestions from different members regularly to add variety!

Of course, we also have casual (and serious) events on other days of the week fitting for people that can’t participate during the week. And we are always open for suggestions as to what to do and when, even outside the game. It’s not unusual for members of our discord to be online playing Age of Empires, Phasmophobia, Among Us, or any number of games together. If you have a game you are interested in, there’s a good chance that you will find members of the FC who want to play it with you - just ask! We even have a Fight Club, for fighting games, but the first rule of that prevents me from telling you more about it.

Aside from the weekly staples, we also have a lot of seasonal content including screenshot competitions, quizzes, hide-and-seek, fashion runways and scavenger hunts! There is something for everyone!

An example of a seasonal FC occasion is our recent "Secret Dragon" event, a seasonal gift exchange, just like secret santa. Members were secretly paired with each other to exchange a token gift. Each participant wrote a short description of their likes and dislikes on the discord channel for the event, and whoever paired with that player bought them a surprise gift they'd enjoy. Last Christmas, minions, mounts, hairstyles, glamour items and food were all popular gifts with our members!

We have a friendly discord server, with a number of social channels across a variety of topics, and all members are welcome to select which channels they want to participate in. All of our channels are safe spaces for sharing, and lots of our members take an opportunity to share their passions from inside and outside FFXIV. We have all the usual channels such as ffxiv discussions, lodestone news and sections to display your best glamours and screenshots, but we also hold space for members to talk about hobbies like painting, music, collectables or cosplay. We have channels to share your goofiest memes, to talk about tv shows, music and films you like, table-top gaming such as D&D, a dedicated anime discussion channel.
