As I struggle to try and clear Seat of Sacrifice EX, I find myself quite discouraged with the groups I end up getting. Many that say practice, progression, or clear sometimes give me little of said things.
It is various reasons, people not knowing the most basic mechanics, not knowing the signs, not knowing where to stand and so on. But it is more than that. There are also the early quitters, the ones who gripe and bitch about others mess ups, and the ones who are selfish and greedy. Yeah, this last one is what I think pisses me off the most. If I have to suffer through ONE more melee DPS partner who chooses to keep DPSing and ignore mechanics to end up killing me because they did not take my tether or come to my meteor, I will just scream!
But I am sure you all know what it truly is, it is the randomness of the whole party finder thing. Never knowing who you will end up with for the fight, not knowing anything about the person's skills, habits, personality, etc; you get the gist. You just don't KNOW what you will be getting when you decide to join that PF.
But with a static it is different. You play with these people over and over, learning who they are, their habits, personality, etc. You learn how to work as a team, how to work in sync. You know you can trust them to do the right thing and are comfortable with playing with them; well at least I HOPE you are! ;-)
I think it would be great to have that, but statics are usually reserved for Savage stuff. I don't really know of any that do just EX and normal raid stuff. I am sure there might be, but I never hear of them.
Yeah, so in the meantime I will suffer through PF, but let me tell you, my patience is wearing thin. So much so, I don't know if I will tolerate it enough to actually clear this EX.
estaba esperando a que USTED se diera cuenta ...
Holy crap, 8 likes? I will say that's surprising for a kind of complaining post. ;p
Wish my writing got that many, sigh.
Party finder is wildly variable so it's understandable to run into issues, especially since most people that prog in PF this late are usually casual players, which is okay. It’s not likely to have good runs in most circumstances like this, but there are still ways to mitigate some of the issues you may come across or not yet understand that you’re coming across. (cont.)
This would mostly start with self-improvement, such as making sure you understand the fundamentals of your class/role and then how to optimally apply those concepts to the mechanics of the fight and your party composition in tandem. Once you have reviewed your performance and ensured that it's not impairing your ability to clear and do well, then you'll be certain to find other players of similar merit and relative competency to do things with you. I don't know diddly shit about SoS EX, or any of the Eden Savage raids...so I don't go into PF for that expressed reason. I won't put people through what you have gone through. I know my limitations, and I'm just not raid material...and that's ok! Everyone has their own play style. But I won't go in there blind and sign up for a clear party and ruin it for others. More people should be cool like me! ;-)
An update to this. I have actually started doing statics for older stuff through the 'Dirty Casuals' discord group. They run MINE (Minimum Ilevel, no Echo), runs for pretty much everything older in FF14. So I get people committed to doing it and people who know HOW to lead them. Yay!
