Joe's Grim Dawn/FF XIV streams 2/19/2020

Public
Tuesday

Purely on a whim - I seldom stream on Tuesday mornings - I decided to stream some Grim Dawn, trying to scratch the itch. And the unexpected happened. Holy moly!:

Don't really know what to say but:

But anyways, for the session itself I created a new oathkeeper character (think paladin in FF XIV, but with fire attacks). And after struggling just to get her to level 2 . . . . . Yeah, that's right, struggling. To reach level two . . . . .

.....things went pretty smooth, eventually reaching level 11 and feeling like I'm in Grand Theft Auto with a rocket launcher again. I'm likin' this class lol.

Oh, and also: white_wimmin kinda read my mind and asked if we could listen to some vinyl, since the in-game music was getting monotonous. So we did, which were:

Devo - Shout
Ministry - The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste
Rush - A Farewell to Kings
Jethro Tull - This Was

Only 3 hours of sleep today. Woke up for . . . . . some . . . . . reason. So, streaming Grim Dawn this evening was a bit of a struggle.

Otherwise, I mainly played my Warlord - which in FF XIV terms is a combination of a warrior and a paladin - for a while, then I decided to take my blademaster - which in FF XIV terms is a mixture of the ninja and warrior classes - out for a walk, since I haven't played him in a while. Now this guy is a glass cannon. He hits hard, but he also gets hit hard. Might've been why I don't play him that much. :/>

And once again I played vinyl during this stream. And they were:

Metallica - Live at the Playhouse Theatre, '86
MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
Mozart - Eine Klein Nachtmuzik, and other tunes
Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician

Wednesday

This morning, off-stream (Didn't stream this morning. Too tired, and Pinball FX3 still doesn't save my scores due to connection issues, and I wasn't in the mood for Pinball Arcade for ~4 hours, especially considering how blah the sessions have been lately) I played a bit more Grim Dawn. I mostly ran around and killed stuff, but eventually I managed to make a long run to kill The Warden to end Act I.

Did a "split stream" today, starting with FF XIV, working on my bard. But things didn't go right, having to abandon the leveling roulette (Bardam's Mettle) at the last boss since I was too distracted, meaning my bard couldn't hit level 71 like I had hoped. So, I'll try again on Friday.

So after that I just switched on over to Grim Dawn, starting with my commando (part warrior, part machinist). But then I realized how slow this guy is compared to my blademaster (who is part warrior, part ninja), so I played him instead. And I basically just funned around farming/killing stuff. Had a few near-death experiences (that I didn't have time to get screenshotted, as it's a work night), so I was definitely on my toes the whole time. And another reason why I like this game: Stat buffs that make sense/are useful.

Here's the LPs I played this evening:

Manuel Gottsching - Inventions for Electric Guitar
The Residents - Eskimo
Black Sabbath - Vol. 4
Tom Lehrer - An evening (wasted) With Tom Lehrer

Okay, gotta go. Gotta get a nap in, and then get ready for work <Take care.>, guys. And you all have yourselves a good day/night. ;)>

Congrats on being dedicated I guess.
You actually making a living doing this now?

I wish lol.

But if you look at the number at the bottom ("Average of 3 viewers"), that's what pretty much keeps it from happening. I'd have to maintain these kind of numbers for AT LEAST 30 days, no way that'll happen. I do pretty much everything "wrong", streamwise.

Secondly, I'm not sure what kind of money those affiliates pull down, but it would have to be at least $2,000 a month, which are my living expenses. Doubt that would happen either (see above).
