A Free Company and a Community?
Why yes! While the Free Company is called SPEAR we run an open discord community that allows you to take part in our events and weekly maps even if you are not part of the free company. This allows you to stay on your server, with your friends, doing what you love without feeling the need to transfer or leaving anyone behind.

Monster Hunter and FFXIV? How does it work?
Just like how the game presents players with Hunt Bills, we have a board available were players are able to choose their hunts as well as ongoing campaigns for high ranking beasts such as A and S ranks. Lower Ranks can be completed ingame with friends with a DM overseeing, Discord RP, or just a short story/journal and will still allow players to obtain rewards.

Hunt Bills that are not completed that month are then rolled on to see if the creature goes up in rank and becomes frenzied or if they remain where they are. Frenzied marks become more powerful and thus will generate higher rewards, but, are required to be killed. Non frenzied hunt bills can be trapped and relocated using Monster Hunter Features such as Tranq Bomb and Trap.

Players take part in events and upon completion of events they receive both Gil currency and Monster Parts. These monster parts are used to buy/upgrade your character sheet with better items which helps itemize your character and help them become more powerful so they can take on higher ranked bills.

Sounds like alot of combat. Do you have a combat system?
For our events we use Pathfinder 2e. This system also has its own custom Monster Hunter section for buying and upgrading gear. None of this means it is influenced by us or some leader wanting to be more powerful then the rest of the group. Pathfinder 2e is a separate system and we have no control over balance or technical properties. We merely follow the rules. If you are new to Pathfinder merely think of it as DnD lite. Much less work but still fun and allows for creative freedom.

I know of Pathfinder but how are you using it ingame?
All Roleplay is done ingame. We like to use the world. All actions/posts/roleplay is done in a linkshell (Crossworld as this allows players from other servers to take part) and you are NOT required to use your voice. 99% of the time the only person talking will be the DM explaining what is going on, actions monsters are taking, and damage being received.

Does this mean I need Discord?
Yes. However! You are not required to chat in it. This is merely to hear the DM speak as well as sign up for events so the ones running them can adjust to the party size prior to the event.

What about Maps and PVE?
We run weekly maps which rotate between Monday and Thursdays depending on which day an RP event is scheduled. The rules for our maps are simple.

Bring at least 1 map
Owner gets outside map loot
Inside is Free for All

The other goods to know about
*What we hunt will become wares we sell at the Kugane Monthly Night Market.

*We do not have an attendance requirement. If you can only make something once a month then so be it. Once every two? Sudden life happens and you can't log in for a bit? Perfectly fine! We are all adults and we all have lives to handle. The game is here to be fun, not to cause stress so you never need to worry about being kicked for inactivity.

*Our FC is small but our community is not! Even if you don't want to RP and only want to do maps you are welcomed to join.

*Alliances with other Free Companies are welcomed and encouraged! If you have a small Free company or are just looking to network then we would love to work with you! More Hunters means more beasts being slain!
