Oh, I thought you were offering tips o-o Well in that case...

Be sure to have Swiftcast and Resurrect at the ready at all times. Like, set them to buttons you KNOW you can press quickly one after the other, but not accidentally hit.

Set Rescue to a button you won't accidentally hit either. If you're on keyboard and mouse, maybe make that a button you have to click.

If you're very new to healing, be sure to run the healer content in Hall of the Novice. You get gear for completing it, and it's good preparation for running dungeons and stuff.

Get to know your skills intimately, and don't just use Cure 2, Benefic 2, etc. as your ONLY heal. You have other skills, and in some cases using the first tier heal can buff the second.

Also, if you have shields, remember that they don't typically stack with other shields...but different kinds of health regens do.

As a more general bit of advice for any non-tank...if you have aggro / enmity, run to the tank so they can take it off you. It is infinitely harder to take attention off of you when the enemies are all the way across the room >.>

Even as a healer, you should still have the Limit Break skill on your hotbar. You might not use it unless you are in 8-man or 24-man content, however. If you find yourself to be the only survivor in your party, and your limit break bar is at level 3, use it to fully resurrect your party.

Finally, Red Mages have a resurrect ability, but only in content that scales you to level 64 or higher. Anything less, and they don't have it. So don't scream at them about helping rez in Heavensward stuff >.>

Awww I was too late too see the deleted comments -.-

A. Try not to panic: Relax, you have swiftcast and a Rez. All will be well.
B. Sprint: ALWAYS keep up with the tank, they will be dumb as a fucking bag of rocks and run out of LOS.
C. Anticipate: Regen/Shield/ Before big buster, or bubble ( if available ) for big pulls.
D. Evaluate: Ck Tank gear, keep an eye out for the tank's ability and adjust accordingly
E. Evacuate: if the people are toxic...BOUNCE. Not worth the stress.

I change my mind. If you delete joke comments then you definitely don't have thick enough skin to be a healer. People are going to blame you for everything, even if it isn't remotely your fault. I bet it will make you cry. I advise you to switch to being a dps.

Also my comment was more accurate than you think. Most of the (halfway decent) healers spend most of their time dpsing. There are enough ogcd heals that healers can clear the highest savage content while dpsing the entire time.

If you're only gonna make joke comments and not provide any sort of advice in a topic ASKING for said advice, then you're not helping and are asking for your comments to be deleted .-.

Though on such a topic of people blaming the healer for everything...keep in mind that not everything is your fault. The tank can forget to put their stance on before a pull, the DPS can not move out of an AOE, and anyone can not know a mechanic. Patience is important, but so is observation and communication.

Yeah, that's my bad. I should rephrase: "actual advice said in the form of a joke" rather than "joke comment". I simply try to inject humor into my advice instead of saying the same old stuff. That's boring.

But really the best advice I can offer is this: "The sooner you realize that you are better than everybody else and that the party can't survive without you the better off you'll be."

Also the topic didn't ask for advice. It simply stated that there are tips from experienced healers.

That's the same thing I thought, but then OP's immediate next (now deleted, it seems) comment was something along the lines of "Well? Anything?" as if they were *asking* for tips, not giving them.

Maybe, but either way it was still real advice.
