Good Evening or Morning Ladies and Gentlemen,
I've been playing MMOs for a vast majority of my life and I've for some reason always put FF14 to the wayside. Roughly four days ago I decided to finally give the game a shot and well thus far, I've been thoroughly enjoying the experience. Mind you I have considered purchasing the level 70 boost for my Summoner as well, as the expansion skips to catch up to the rest of the player base. For the moment, I feel as though It's the journey rather than the destination that makes a great tale. As with most MMOs, I go in with the expectation that I will someday-with hard work and determination be somewhat recognizable.
As of now, I am level 23 and have genuinely enjoyed how much depth this game offers. I've even met a wonderful fellow who helped me through my first dungeon, which was quite enjoyable, not too complicated or overwhelming, yet still very engaging. I look forward to progressing through all 80 levels and push through the various expansions. I'll post regular updates of my novice experience with Final Fantasy 14, In the hopes it helps someone who's on the edge about getting the game.
Honestly Neph, unless you have friends playing at a higher level and you feel compelled to catch up to...your first go around should be slow and steady.
Experiment with different jobs, grab a crafter and a matching gather job ( eg; Weaver and Botanist). Or just level Bot/Miner to make gill off of raw materials along the way.
Don't be afraid to take time and take in the graphics, scenery. Play with screenshots, other in-game abilities. Or just skip everything if you want to get to Raiding :D
