We're back, and with a better idea of the towers' purpose,
but I still think calling it the End Days isI can gnaw on my frustrations later--facts now.
Our more studious members are once again working to make the definition of "primal" fit what we know about them. Personally, I think "powered by aether, needs H'biki to go kill it" is enough, but...actually, seeing it written now, I guess that covers both too many and not enough summonings we've handled.
So, as usual, I'll leave that to the scholars.
Aside from that, the conflict has strengthened the relationships with the--and I still think we need a better term--beastman tribes. As with Norvrandt, a common threat does wonders for bringing people together. The Empire as the driving force in the mix, when it was designed to chip away at the cracks it's now mending, is an irony not lost on me.
Otherwise, we're waiting for Krile to return, and....news on Arenvald. It's
I'll speak plainly--there's nothing any of us here can do. We're all aware of that.
Alphinaud, Urianger, and I may be healers, but we're combat healers--robust and extended treatment is outside of our skill sets. It's why rougher trips end with a once-over from Krile or Coultenet, no matter how skilled our field treatment or how fine we feel at the time.
But knowledge doesn't keep emotions at bay, though the reverse is frustratingly effective. And seeing the resiliant, Norvrandt-forged Alphinaud so shaken was
To put it simply, we're all on edge. One crack in this facade of being "fine" and we'll devolve into collective, anxious pacing. Alphinaud is holding us together, even though he shouldn't have to....but when half of our worry is for him, it's difficult to avoid.
It's one of the bravest fronts I've seen someone put up, but it also reminds me he's still a child.
Again, though--there's nothing any of us can do. Not really. All the pretty words and support in the Source won't lead to Arenvald strolling into the Rising Stones. Only time can bring a resolution, and with any luck it'll be a good one.
