To start this little blog I would like to remind, this is mostly just opinion and thoughts. Hope you all enjoy and have some comments about it yourself. :3
So I came across this thought while I was watching my hubby play a bit of The Outer Worlds and he kept getting trophies(achievements) and my question quickly became, how much does the gaining of trophies add to the game play?
Well, the truth is it adds a Lot to games imo. From doing things you would not think to do to things you would probably Never do unless you absolutely wanted that achievement!
Yut there is a slight issue with once we Earn these trophies. You can not earn them again.
Why is this a problem you might ask? Well, how many times are you going to play that game again?
There is a certain satisfaction upon hearing that trophy gain and when we go back and play it’s missing from the initial excitement often.
There is also another problem with companies like Nintendo, on the switch there are no achievements, nor trophies. Does this perhaps make the games upon it less interesting for many?
My initial theory is honestly that the addition to Trophies/Achievements have actually effected the replay value of games ultimately.
When we look at some of nintedo games and the lack of such, i can see personally the places there Could be. But is there a reason they absolutely should have such?
