With a heavy heart I returned to Mor Dhona. Despite finding out more of what happened to the Scions, I now had to admit to myself, just how possible it was that some may in fact be gone forever. Walking down the streets of Revenant's Toll, the path to the Rising Stones seemed longer with the overwhelming feeling of defeat. As the doors to the Seventh heaven opened, I was shocked to see Fenris, Rave and Momomi walk out. Alphinaud followed closely behind them as he quickly noticed me and hid behind Fenris.
I shook my head at him as I walked up to them and quickly grasped a group hug. Smiling at them all, it felt almost as if an age had passed since our venture into the World of Darkness.
"Tis Great to see you all! What news have you?"
Rave looked around at the surroundings of Revenant's Toll and then back towards the Rising Stones. He smiled at me and his ears twitched as he patted me on the shoulder. With relief across his face he seemed to have something to say.
"I see you have put things back in order... I am very happy for that. Truly the Scions are in good hands."
He seemed silent for a moment as he walked out towards the Aetheryte. Turning back towards me he sighed aloud.
"Any idea what happened to the rest?"
"Yes... and I am working on leads for some. If I or Kali figure anything out, we will get the info to you in any way."
He sighed again as he heard his linkpearl spark up again. Glancing back at me he nodded in agreement with my words.
"I wish I had more time to stick around, Unfortunately duty calls."
I held up my hand stopping him for a moment as I spoke.
"Rave,.... The world needs the warrior of light. The Scions have utilized you for a very long time. However, as Acting Antecedent, I can only give help lead you towards what could require your attention. What you do from here on is under the guise of the Warrior of Light, not the Scions. But I hope you will come by time to time... help us out with some stuff."
I smiled at him and he and Momomi smiled towards me giving me a thumbs up.
"Before you go, might I ask what you are up to?"
Rave nodded as Fenris adjusted his gear quickly walking next to his brother. Momomi still standing beside Rave as she seemed to be concentrating upon something else.
"We return to Ishgard. Cid has something to help us get to the Aery. Our fight against Nidhogg begins."
I thought for a moment quietly as I looked at him closer. Smiling I recognized something I had not noticed before.
"You encountered another primal?"
His eyebrow arose curiously as he had not suggested such before.
"How did you-"
"I can smell the aether... kind of strange. Who was it?"
"A beast tribe known as the Gnath summoned a primal they were referring to as their War General. His name is Ravana and he revels in battle. The blades he wielded were.... Something I had once thought of legend."
"Oh?"
I asked with curiosity as he began to explain.
"The four Chandraha blades, I am not sure how he got his hands upon them all but when he was defeated, the blades disappeared with him... Unfortunate."
Momomi interrupted quickly as she said something which caught my attention.
"We have been working with Ysayle... I mean Iceheart. She tried to fight the primal with her own primal energy, becoming Shiva again. Is she perhaps one of your kind?"
I bit my lower lip and sighed aloud as I looked at Momomi.
"No.... She is not an esper. Honestly I find her transformation to be... insulting. Openly using such powers and believing their is not a price to pay for it."
Momomi nodded as she grasped a crystal in her bag, showing it towards me.
"She became Shiva with the power of the crystals within the room. Though their was not enough aether to give her strength to fight him."
I shook my head at the thought.
"Summoning primal energy for anything is costly to Hydaelyn."
Momomi shrugged as she looked me up and down.
"What of your power?"
I smiled a bit at the question.
"That is a bit different. Changing form comes at the expense of mine own aether. I can convert aether as well for power but choose not to."
"Does that mean if you stay in your form to long in this world you could die?"
I thought for a moment but shook my head.
"Not really, my body has its limits and the eikon form will dissolve when my aether is low. However, if I am stuck in said form for to long by unforeseen circumstance, the form itself will begin to convert into void aether. This is why my people fell eons ago. They were not capable of changing back to their mortal forms. I however, due to Mid-"
I stopped and looked at Fenris whos ears twitched at my words, noticing as I stopped.
"Uhh, well an outside source of primal energy has altered my abilities and I am capable of reverting to my mortal form."
He looked at me for a bit longer but shook his thought process off as he began to teleport.
"This has been fun Scarlette, but we must away. The longer we take the worse the situation may become."
Momomi shrugged at Fenris as he teleported away. Rave began to teleport, following his brother. Glancing back to Momomi I sighed a bit.
"Where can I find Iceheart?"
Her eyebrow arose as she thought of my question for a moment.
"Well, last I saw her was in the Churning Mists... the wyrm Hraesvelgr gave her a bit of a scorning for impersonating Saint Shiva."
I thought about it for a moment and shook my head in disbelief that she even suggested such to him.
"Thank you Momomi."
I smiled as she waved towards me, teleporting away, I walked into the Seventh Heaven and stopped as I felt a lingering presence around me. Glancing around, everything grew dark around me. A familiar voice filled my ears and I cringed as I heard his laughter.
"Hehehehahahahahaha! AHHH HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!"
"Ferdiad..."
I glanced before me as the spike covered jester appeared. His sharp scythe resting under his spiked feet as he leaned down towards me. The large horns I had destroyed him with, had grown back clearly when he was brought back to life.
"What do You want?"
He smiled at me as he let a few chuckles slip while he tried to talk.
"Your hehe.... Your Uncle would like to see you again."
I looked at him with naught but clear confusion.
"I do not have an uncle."
He laughed aloud wildly again as he held up a small black sphere. Looking closer towards it, I noticed I had seen it before.
"Wait.. That's!"
The sphere expanded fast and we were teleported away.
Darkness surrounded me, and I could not see before me. Suddenly I felt myself dropping as I was released from the sphere. Quickly I braced for a hard landing. Instead, I found myself floating, looking down below me upon jungle infested ruins. Landing upon my feet upon the wall of the ancient ruins, I glanced around as another black sphere appeared before me.
Descending from it, the creature Diabolos emerged. He flapped his wings as he floated slowly towards me. As his feet hit the wall, he stood beside me and continued walking towards me.
"My dearest niece, Scarlette. Daughter of mine brother Aeon."
I looked at Diabolos in anger as I stepped backwards.
"Trickery."
He shook his head as he gently placed a hand upon my shoulder.
"Your eikon form gives you away."
My body changed into its eikon form for a split second, stretching my demonic wings as it dissipated. I smacked his hand away from my shoulder, irritated.
"Do not do that!"
"You hide from your true form still. How disappointing.... I hear you have taken a position of power among the mortals. Does it not feel invigorating? Everything under your control."
"I am not a leader because I want to be. I must do this to find my friends."
"Hah... yes... friends. They fear you for they know what you are capable of now."
"My enemies should fear that. My friends do not."
He shook his head as he turned away from me, sighing yet again.
"You are such a disappointment in your ideals. But how you have grown over time! Such an testament to your own father."
"What do you want!? Why am I here?"
He glanced back at me with his menacing grin growing larger.
"Your father is coming back... Very soon. But you are not ready for him."
He gently placed something upon the ground as he glanced towards me.
"If you drink this, your power will be increased ten fold."
I grasped the vial and tossed it back at him without another thought.
"I need no help from you. You think I do not see your ploy? What is your plan right now? Why would you want me by your side?"
He grinned again to himself as he looked back to the ruins.
"It matters naught.... I just wish for you to live long enough to see my plans."
Quickly he turned around and stretched his wings.
"Very well, if you do not wish for my help, then you will receive none. I do promise however, when the time comes, if you are still alive, I will spare you and allow you to live in my new world."
"Your... what?"
An orb appeared over my head and I felt myself quickly devoured by it. Falling upon the grounds outside Revenant's Toll, I looked around in confusion. My mind thought upon everything Diabolos had said. However, immediately my thought went to my father.
"If he is coming back.... Then I will save him. No matter the cost..."
