What being nice gets you
Doing Expert Roulette today we actually had someone new who had never done Matoya's workshop before.
Now as you probably know, people usually speed though that dungeon at breakneck speed like they have someplace to be. But this time we had someone new, and it was the Tank no less for heavens sake. So this was NOT going to be a fast run since it was all new to her.
Now SOME people would have bitched, moaned, and griped up a storm over this, the small pulls, the slow progress, the fact that she died a bunch of times not knowing the mechanics. but did we? No, no we did not.
I was especially supportive towards her, telling her to take her time, do her best, and giving what advice that I could to help her with some of the mechanics of the bosses.
Sure the run took longer than normal; but no one seemed to mind and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Plus I think the tank really appreciated us being so understanding.
And at the the end of the instance, I saw this.
SEE! Pays to be NICE people! ;-)
But at the end of the day, commendations don't actually get you anything. While being rude gets you the feeling of satisfaction of being superior to someone else.
Oh Kupo, never change. LOL
Tbh one of the main sources of joy that I get from this game is helping people through content both old and new, especially if given the circumstances, walk along them in their MSQ or side-quest progression, showing them both the ropes and the lore from the game in the most chronologically paced way I can. I recently accompanied someone all the way to the end of the MSQ when I caught them at the end of HW, and currently helping someone else starting SB. Reminds me of my first run of the story!
I will never change. I already have all of the commendation achievements and am not currently a mentor so I have no reason to be nice to people.
Besides other Lalas, of course. I will always be nice to other Lalas.
I agree with you walabi, I try to help where I can, particularly with hard stuff like EX primals. If I see a PF for one I know well, I will help out.
For instance, I also helped a blue group today get the spell from Shiva EX by going in as healer and it was a GOOD thing I was there too. LOL Thanks to my LB3, all the dead blues were up when she died so they got the spell. ;p
"Memories from shiva unreal storm through your mind..."
I'm a Japanese, but your English is for me to understand.
That sounds good story.
I like you.
Have a good day enjoying playing FF14 XD
Awww, thank you Miori, I'm glad you liked it. ;-)
I love helping, but typing while playing sucks with a keyboard on my lap and controller in my hand. BUT when I can assist I will.
Then again I've just become so jaded with people being brain dead and not responding. I really hate wasting my time. SO if you respond like you actually want assistance I gotchu.
Yes Lolo, it's not the EASIEST thing, but it's doable, I'm just a little show sometimes because I am typing.
I know what you mean about people not being responsive, don't get me started on the idiots for EX parties that won't listen when you tell them to chose a clock/partner position for mechanics. UGH!
But this tank was really nice and admitted right away she was new. So she was very receptive to advice, even my sucky advice. LOL
