A very quick Guild Wars 2 session today, all my mat crafting and open-world dailies being taken care of in only 45 minutes.

And after that, I just went ahead and switchied on over to Fantasy Strike, playing mostly Rook, and a little Argle Gargle. I also got "raided" by a guy named ThyPirateKing, a guy who hosts Fantasy Strike tournaments (oh, and a "raid" is where a streamer, and all of his viewers, drop by your stream to visit). So, it seems that I'm moving up in the world!

And it defintely looks like I'll be playing Rook more often. I did a few online matches, and I won all of them! I also played a friend - who's been playing this game A LOT longer than I have - and I won all of those too (although to be fair, he made it hard as hell for me to do anything on the last match, leading me to believe he was just testing me the previous matches)!!

And granted, Rook - like Zangief of Street Fighter - is actually a fairly simple character to use. Get close somehow, then play a shell game with your opponent. Either do a normal attack (which can be blocked), a normal throw (which can be "Yomi countered", by doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, no moving or attacking, very unique among fighting games), or a special throw (which can be avoided by simply jumping). But on the other hand, I'm a new player as well, so a character like this is more in my wheelhouse (whereas Argagarg, who is based on Dhalsim of Street Fighter, relying on long-range attacks to keep his opponent away, is more suited to my playstyle even though he is a lot harder for me to use).

And the LP 33 rpms I played this evening were:

Devo - Oh no! It's Devo!
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Bill Cosby - Revenge
Maurice Ravel - Bolero

Sunday

Ahhhh, button bloat.

A dead stream today, with only Keitaro87 dropping by to visit for a short while. Sooo, a raid with a whole bunch of people yesterday, and now a ghost town today. For reasons that only I'd probably understand, Charlie Brown's testimonial dinner always comes to mind whenever this happens, same as when someone promotes my stream on Twitter and noone shows up (or if they do, they don't stick around for long).

But anyway, for the session today I kinda went overlong on Guild Wars 2, as one of today's dailies required me to run a dungeon. yay. :|>

And to make matters worse, players were trying to run dungeons that take forever and a day to complete and/or have bosses/mechanics that can cause deaths/wipes. I mean, it's a DAILY DUNGEON! You can do the easiest one in the game, and it'll count. And I already have a hard time with the simple stuff, let alone the complicated ones. *sigh* But eventually I found a group that was doing an easy dungeon and got on that and got that daily done. Sheesh!

And for Fantasy Strike it was a quickie one, being on only about 45 minutes or so. I just ran various solo modes with Rook the grappler and Quince the illusionist and called it good.

And here's the vinyl records I spun today:

Weather Report - Mysterious Traveler
The Monkees - More of The Monkees
Tschaikovsky - Concerto in D, Opus #35
MC5 - Kick out the Jams

Monday

Been there, Chuck. Been there!

A pretty good time today in Guild Wars 2. Just did my usual mat crafting. And after that I got on my open-world dailies, which pretty much went off without a hitch. And I also decided to run a dungeon, which also went well, despite all our dying (a fair amount of one-shot mechanics in this one).

And after I was done there, I decided to play some Street Fighter IV, something I haven't played in a while. But I didn't last long, because:

So I just watched a few replays, after which I switched over to Fantasy Strike....

.... Which went kinda okay. I won a few online matches with Rook, but struggled like always with Argle Gargle. But luckily a new visitor from Brazil named mrsup20xx dropped by and helped me practice with him some. Always helpful! But eventually, due to me having to go grocery shop as well as my tablet (shows my Twitch chat) charge being at only 20% I went ahead and called off the stream.

And the vinyls . . . . . you know the drill!:

Pink Floyd - The Endless River
Fugazi - Red Medicine
Kraftwerk - Radio-Activity
Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien

Aaaaaalrighty then, time to call it a night. <Take care.>, everyone. And have a good night/day. ;)>
