My last three FC, Shadow Storm, Yadda, Nomad, consisted of most members actively participated in end game raiding. Technically none of them were advertised as raiding FC, but somehow we all seem to raid. It is a big contrast to my current FC. Every day I login, people in Oath seems to be crafting or gathering, or maybe doing dungeons.
A few days after I joined the FC was a reset day on Tuesday, so I decided to run Dun Scaith. I gathered four other people from Oath to run with me.
Even today, I still find it difficult to describe that encounter.
I went in that day as a WHM. During that run, I casted healer LB3 seven times, and rez about 30 times. When we beat the last boss, we had about 10 min left before timeout. We even wiped once at the Life Gate, that big door right before the last boss. Apparently if you don’t dps the door fast, the big glowing thing touch the door and it will wipe you. It was the first time I have ever seen that. I suppose, we could have seen the supernova blew up at proto-ultima. It was close.
It became a forever memorable FC event.
Stinky is the FC master of Oath and is the one who ran those weird ad on pf. From what I know so far, I was the only one who joined after reading the ad. Of course, it was not the only trick she has in the bag. Back when I first joined, I have seen things like if you bring two new people to join, you get some gil, to if you join as new player and can let us claim the recruit a friend bonus, you get a mil. I didn’t pay attention to the details as much. As I told Stinky, I thought that was a bad idea and we should just remove them. After all, good members join to contribute, not to leech off the FC. Basically, we need people who can give and take, not take and take.
“Do you want an FC job?” She asked me one day.
I suppose, the typical FC job involve feeding chocobo, gardening and sending airship out. I was struggling to login and do my roulette every day, let alone actually doing other things in the FC.
“No, but if you need advertising, I can write about our FC on my blog.” I said to her.
Maybe someone crazy enough to join after reading about it. Who knows? Of course, I never mentioned my blog was more or less the reason why I was basically kicked from my previous two FC.
Obviously, she had plans in expanding the FC. About a week or so after I joined, someone typed in the FC chat saying that there is a Thief running around in the FC house. I thought it was a joke, because it was almost impossible to go into an house and steal anything. Then I noticed that someone with the FC tag <Thief> was in front of the FC house. Soon, there was another one coming out of the FC house.
And another one.
Soon, Stinky told us that we were going to team up with this FC name <Thief>. She quickly set up an LS, and got the members of both FC to join. People in Oath was already very chatty, then we joined up with another FC that is also chatty. There was just too many message pop up in the chat window with people who need help with crafting, running dungeon and god knows what. I quickly moved this LS to another tab so I can keep ignoring it until I have nothing better to do.
After the “merge”, I noticed that there was a small sign in front of our FC house. There was a greeting message which went like this:
“Welcome to all Oathies and friends, our doors are open but not our legs!”
It was a coincidence, I hope. We obviously had our doors opened. As a result, whole bunch of <Thief> was attracted here. Sometime I wonder, if the greetings was the other way around, which FC instead would have showed up.
Obvious, I think it is easy to become just like them quite quickly.
One day, Uri asked us, "Anyone interested in fungeon?"
"What exactly is fungeon?" I asked. "Do you mean f--k the dungeon?"
"Well, you have to really big to f--k a dungeon." Seeri said to us.
"No," Uri said. "It is a word combined from 'fun' and 'dungeon'."
Obviously, these people are abnormal, but I guess, so do I.
ahahah Siggy.... seems you found a place where its nice to be.
You know, hearing these stories bring back memories how my old fc used to be...chatty, friendly, hosting events like the weekly tower runs.... given this was all back in ARR but still... I'm happy you found that FC.... :D
