It was around noon on a Saturday when I announced in the FC chat that I was going to leave. Then I applied to Nomad. After that, the first person I notified was Tinker. We were supposed to raid together that evening, but I told her to find a dps backup for my spot just in case. I hate to say that I can forecast what would happen next, because it implied certain people was just too easy to read. I really don't have a crystal ball, and very often people surprises me.
Well, I guess someone doesn't. Tinker got back to me in two hours and told me exactly what I had forecast. So I told her, the fastest way to resolve the issue was for me to leave her static.
Back then when Tinker started this static, or non-static she called it, I was skeptical. Not that I think it was impossible to get 8 people together to clear stuff, but who join a team who functions almost like a static without guarantee 2 chests? I mean, why people don't just join a static that do the same thing with the loot? Anyhow, despite my skepticism, she managed to pull it together. To me, it doesn't matter who's right or wrong, I just don't like to see all her effort go into waste.
On the other side in Nomad. They have an FC static that I was subbing for before. Not soon after I joined, Obli posted a message saying that 3/8 people will stop raiding. They were discussing about not to do A12s anymore, but will meet up for A9s to A11s clear.
Catrine asked me if I was free to join them for their A9s to A11s weekly kill. However, I still wanted to work on A12s as tank. I got my kill already at this point, but as the raid lead I sub for told me, my dps was too low. I need to work a bit more on it. Technically I can pug on the cross server pf, but I think it is to my advantage to stick with a static and follow one strategy. Almost all static trial will ask me not to clear A9s- A11s ahead of time. As a result, there is no way for me to help out in the FC static if they want the chest as well.
I thought of giving up on A12s as well. I mean, I had cleared A12s as a caster and as a tank, what else do I need to prove? My dps sucks always. It is not like I don't want to get better, but I feel this is just totally a wild goose chase. If say one day I get a 99%-tile on fflogs, what does it prove?
At one point, I signed up for a static doing A8S. At the moment, tanking A8S will be more interesting than tanking A12s because the mechanics will be totally new for me. I found a static who would be doing it, but in less than a day I signed up, I got a trial for another static for A12s prog.
