The Diary of the Dead Lalafell Gardener

Another raid day came.
Qina usually got online early, but he was nowhere to find. Soon the raid time approached, but he was not around.
A message appeared in the LS, from our AST.
"Qina told me that he no longer wants to run a static. In fact, he will be joining another static. He hands the responsibility to me, so starting today, I will be the raid lead."
"I hope you guys are fine with that." The AST remarked.
Frankly, at that point, I don't think anyone know what to say. It was sort of like those anime episode when you get home, your parents said, "actually, you are not our real child." It was just totally surreal.
Anyway, it was at least 10 minutes passed the raid time.
AST started a PF looking for a main tank and a melee sub, to start raid, like now.
30 minutes later.
There were zero people signing up.
"Should we cancel raid for today?" I asked AST. "On one hand, we can go off and do our weeklies instead of waiting aimlessly. On the other hand, it also give you sometime to find members. I don't expect people suddenly show up."
"That is a good idea." AST replied. "Let's call it a day then. I will continue to recruit people for the next raid."
Two day passed, the next raid.
AST was nowhere to be found. Not only that DRG was missing as well.
"So, are we raiding or not?" WHM asked.
"I tried to call DRG on the phone earlier, but he was not answering." BRD said. "Let me try again."
"But anyone see AST around at all?" I asked. "I don't notice he login at all lately."
Not only so, none of us saw our previous raid lead, Qina, login since the day we get the message from AST that he would step down as raid lead and moved on to another static.
"So what are we going to do? Are we still raiding today?" WHM asked.
Naturally, the raid was called off. Four people missing and we have no lead on where to find them.
The next raid, DRG came back and told us that last he forgot about the raid and felt asleep. It was weird that the usually angry DRG became all humble and apologetic. I think he was telling the truth.
AST was still missing. Qina was nowhere to be found. It was not clear who was running the team and what happen to the two vacant spots in the static.
A few days later, I spot our WHM answering to an ad on reddit recruitment looking for healer. Before joining our team, this WHM was trialing with Aelia's static for Lily's spot. I still can't figure out why he joined us, but I guess it was natural that he moved on. One evening, he dropped out from the LS one evening without a goodbye.
It was about a week or two passed.
AST never logged back on. Qina was still nowhere to find.
"I wonder what happened to them. It has been more than a week." I mentioned in the LS.
"Oh, I managed to find AST yesterday." BRD replied.
"Really? What did he say? Is he okay?"
"Yeah. AST told me that the game is making him very depressed. So he decided to unsub like a week and a half ago."
Depressed? That never-stop-talking cheerful AST? For what? For recruiting people into a static?
Obviously, none of us knew about it for the whole time.
"Ok, I guess we should disband the group and go look for a new static." I said.
"We all started looking last week. Haven't you done anything yet?" BRD said to me.
It was how my first static in Cerberus ended.
There is nothing to feel sorry about because I didn't want to raid at all when I first come here. However, the story was not quite over yet.
.
Reading your adventures is like reading pages from a book. You reach the end and you want to read more.
But as amusing as they are for the reader, I think some may have been really frustrating for you. ^^'
I feel sorry for the AST, maybe the game was making him depressed before and he joined a static hoping to get over it and maybe make friends. I guess that would explain him being all chatty and cheerful.
But I know nothing of psychology or depression, maybe he just used the excuse to bail.
For AST, there is no early sign of anything goes wrong. He picked up the raid lead spot and never mentioned that he needed help or any sort. It is a re-occurring problem in other static I joined that people don't really talk and suddenly have to make a drastic decision.
I think the story will run once a day until we hit 3.4, then I do something else for a while. I have been in Cerberus for about 6 months. There were plenty of things happened during these time.
