Patch 4.0 Notes (Full Release)

It is with great pleasure that we announce the patch notes for FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood have been released in their entirety.

As adventure beckons beyond the borders of Aldenard, how will you prepare for the dangers that await in Gyr Abania and the Far East? Will you refine the skills of your time-tested professions, walk the path of the samurai, or perhaps master the arcane arts of the red mage? Choose your discipline wisely, and journey forth to explore lands unknown. With the addition of swimming and diving, extensive battle system adjustments, and myriad improvements to other pre-existing systems, there is much to see and more to do in the far reaches of Eorzea and beyond!

FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 4.0

Patch 4.0 contains content that can only be accessed by registering the expansion packs for FINAL FANTASY XIV to your service account. To distinguish between adjustments that are and are not affected by the registration of these expansions, the following notations will be used throughout the patch notes:

These additions and adjustments only require the purchase of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
These additions and adjustments require the purchase and registration of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward.
These additions and adjustments require the purchase and registration of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood.

In light of the addition of new jobs, the rewards for main scenario and job quests have been adjusted. Moreover, the EXP awarded for completing these quests has been increased.

EXP awarded upon completing Moogle beast tribe quests with a class or job at level 60 or higher has been significantly reduced.

Guildleves

New tradecraft and fieldcraft leves have been added to the new areas.

Please note that battlecraft leves are not available in the new areas introduced in patch 4.0.

When playing as a class over level 60, rewards for tradecraft leves and fishing fieldcraft leves below level 60 will be greatly reduced.

The locations of gathering points for the botanist guildleve Maple Stories have been adjusted.

EXP awarded upon completing botanist and miner fieldcraft leves has been increased.

FATEs

New FATEs have been added.

A new experience points bonus system has been implemented for FATEs in 4.0 areas.

Experience Points Bonus

FATEs that appear in 4.0 areas will, on occasion, offer a bonus to EXP awarded upon completion.

FATEs offering bonus EXP can be confirmed via the map or the Recommendations list.

Twist of Fate

Special enemies may appear over the course of any given FATE.

By defeating this enemy, all players who participated in the FATE and receive a rating will be granted the Twist of Fate status.
* Players will be granted the Twist of Fate status even if the FATE ends in failure.

Players under the effect of the Twist of Fate status will receive increased EXP rewards upon completing any FATE.
* The effects of this status will apply even if the FATE ends in failure.

FATE difficulty has been adjusted.

Changes to difficulty based on the previous number of participants will now affect all FATEs in the nearby area rather than individual FATEs.

Certain large-scale FATEs will no longer require level sync to participate.

The time limit for the following FATEs has been increased from 15 to 30 minutes.

Treasure Hunt

Gaganaskin treasure maps and gazelleskin treasure maps have been added.

Players will now be synced to level 60 when entering the Aquapolis.

Emotes used in the Aquapolis immediately before the gate selection cutscene will no longer be canceled.

Grand and Free Companies

Additional items will now be accepted for supply and provisioning missions, as well as expert delivery missions.

New craftable items have been added to the Company Workshop.

When playing as a class at level 60 or higher, players will no longer receive experience points when contributing materials designated as below level 60.

The level of the following items when contributing to company crafting has been increased from 59 to 60:

    • Superior Deep-red Enchanted Ink
    • Superior Deep-green Enchanted Ink
    • Superior Deep-blue Enchanted Ink

A free company chest is now available in Rhalgr's Reach and Kugane.

Samurai and red mage symbol options have been added to Company Crests.

An explanation of the automatic transfer of the master rank has been added to the OIC Administrator at each Grand Company headquarters.

Housing

A new housing area has been added.

Shirogane

By completing the following quest, players will be able to teleport to the residential district directly via the Aethernet in Kugane.
* When entering Shirogane prior to completing certain main scenario quests, players will be unable to leave via gate entrances. In such cases, we ask players please use Teleport or Return to leave the area.

A new orchestrion furnishing, the table orchestrion, has been added.

A new painting furnishing, the easel, has been added.

A new flowerpot furnishing, the mounted flower vase, has been added.

In accordance with the increased character level cap, level 70 Gyr Abanian striking dummies have been added.

New orchestrion rolls have been added.

New aquarium fishes have been added.

New aquarium interior items have been added.

New paintings have been added.

* Certain requirements must be met in order to obtain new paintings.

Plants that are ready to harvest from garden patches or flowerpots will no longer wither.

Crafting facility furnishings can now be used by crafting classes up to level 60.

The display of the Indoor Furnishings and Outdoor Furnishings windows has been adjusted.

New items have been added to the inventory of the Housing Merchant and Material Supplier NPCs, as well as estate vendors.

New items have been added to the curious crop exchange at residential area material suppliers.

The Manderville Gold Saucer

New prizes are available for purchase using MGP.

New Triple Triad cards have been added.

New NPC opponents for Triple Triad have been added.

Players can now engage in Triple Triad matches in new areas.


Stormblood entries have been added to the sightseeing log.

These new pages in the sightseeing log will be unlocked as you explore the new areas in Stormblood. Players will be granted experience points upon discovering these new locations.
* Players must first complete the quest "A Sight to Behold," and have reached level 60 or higher with a Disciple of War or Magic. Completion of previous sightseeing log entries is not required.

The challenge log has been adjusted as follows:

  • New categories have been added.

    In accordance with this change, the time remaining will no longer display in the Timers window.
  • Coinciding with the increase in level cap, experience points awarded upon completing challenge log objectives has been increased.

Wondrous Tails has been adjusted as follows:

  • Upon reaching level 70, an additional column of optional rewards will be added.
  • Upon reaching level 70, the objectives available in the Wondrous Tails will change.
    * The aforementioned changes will not affect a Wondrous Tails in your possession prior to attaining level 70.

Players can now view a weather forecast for new areas.

Players can now swim in the oceans and lakes of certain areas.

Embark on new adventures under water with full freedom of movement and without time limits. You will be able to undertake various quests and even gather with Disciples of the Land just as you did on the shores of Eorzea.

Entering certain bodies of water will allow players to float and swim. When special conditions are met, diving under water will also be possible.

Diving

While swimming in a body of water, you simply need to descend as you would with any flying mount. If you are riding a flying mount, you can go from flying to diving by descending into water at the proper angle.

Swimming toward the surface will allow you to leave deep waters automatically.

* Minions and certain items cannot be used while swimming or diving.

The travel speed of mounts on the ground can now be enhanced.

As players progress, the speed of mounts will increase in two stages. It should be noted, however, the speed of mounts will be limited in certain areas as follows:

The speed enhancement available for all areas can be confirmed via the Mount Speed window under Travel in the Main Menu.

Flying mounts have been adjusted as follows:

  • The height at which certain mounts float when on the ground has been adjusted.
  • When interacting with an NPC or object while riding a flying mount, players will dismount automatically when hovering below a certain height.

New aesthetician hairstyles have been added.

The appearance of certain hairstyles has been adjusted to appear more natural when diving.

The following additions and adjustments have been made to emotes:

  • New emotes have been added.
  • The height of the camera when certain races uses the /sit emote has been adjusted.
  • Players using the /sit or /doze emote when entering an instance via the Duty Finder will appear in the same position when exiting the instance.
  • The display indicating the conditions under which emotes can be used has been adjusted.

Battle System

The level cap for all Disciples of War and Magic has been raised to 70.

The samurai and red mage jobs have been added.

These jobs have no corresponding classes and begin at level 50.

In accordance with the addition of these new jobs, gear for samurai and red mage has been added to the rewards for all trials and duties, and will now be sold by merchant NPCs.

The rogue action Mug no longer increases the number of items dropped by enemies in dungeons.

The effect of Sword Oath will now end upon logging out.

* This change will be reverted in a future update.

Substantial revisions have been made to the battle system.

The battle system has undergone a number of significant changes including adjustments to various actions and traits.

For more details regarding job actions and traits, please refer to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Job Guide.

Moreover, due to these adjustments, Disciples of War and Magic can no longer set actions from Disciples of the Land as additional actions.

The sprint animation when a weapon is drawn has been adjusted for certain classes and jobs.

Attribute points have been removed.

The weakness and brink of death status ailments have been adjusted as follows:

Player attributes have been adjusted as follows:

  • The calculation for attack power of jobs designated as tanks has been adjusted.
  • The calculation for magic attack power of jobs designated as healers has been adjusted.
  • The "parry" attribute has been changed to "tenacity."

    This attribute is only applicable to the tank role. The higher the value, the more damage dealt, the more HP restored, and the less damage taken.
  • The "accuracy" attribute has been changed to "direct hit." Moreover, base rate at which attacks land against enemies of the same level has been raised to 100%.

    The higher the value, the higher the frequency with which your hits will be direct.
  • Piety is no longer categorized as a main attribute.

    This attribute is only applicable to the healer role. Affects the player's maximum MP.
  • Piety will no longer be granted as a party bonus.
  • Skill speed now also affects auto-attacks.
  • The effects of determination have been increased.
  • The base potency modifier for critical hits has been reduced.
  • Blocks and parries are no longer limited to attacks from the front.
  • Block now also applies to magical damage.

In accordance with the above changes, the attributes of certain gear, as well as the effects of materia and food items have been adjusted. Moreover, the help text descriptions of attributes have been adjusted.

The starting attributes of all races have been adjusted.

There is now a distinction between detrimental effects that can and cannot be removed via curative items or actions.

The 100% increase in EXP gain granted by the Armoury bonus now applies to all jobs below level 60.

From level 60 onward, the Armoury bonus is a 50% increase in EXP gained.

New dungeons have been added.

When completing a level 51 to 59 dungeon or a level 61 to 69 dungeon, players will always receive one piece of gear equippable by their current class or job.

* Players will not receive gear that is already in their inventory.

In accordance with the increase in level cap, players can now gain experience from level 60 dungeons and alliance raid dungeons.

The strength of the Echo granted in Alexander: The Creator (Savage) has been increased.

The Echo will take effect upon entering Alexander: The Creator (Savage), increasing players' maximum HP, damage dealt, and healing potency by 20%.

* Unlike other instances, the strength of the Echo will not increase in the event all party members are incapacitated.

New trials have been added.

The echo will also be applied to all trials implemented prior to patch 3.5.

HP, MP, and TP will now be restored to full when entering any instance.

Detrimental effects will now be removed when leaving any instance.

MP and TP will now be restored to full after a party has been incapacitated during a trial or raid.

The above change applies to the following categories in the Duty Finder: Trials (ARR & Heavensward), Trials (Stormblood), Raids (ARR & Heavensward), and Raids (Stormblood).

This also applies to trials and raids in the Raid Finder.

* In duties where the player is prompted to return to the instance's starting point, doing so will restore HP, MP, and TP to full.

The following additions and adjustments have been made to Allagan tomestones:

  • Allagan tomestones of verity have been added.
    Players can only obtain up to a maximum of 2,000 tomestones. Moreover, players can only receive Allagan tomestones of verity after reaching level 70 with at least one class or job.
    * There is no weekly limitation on Allagan tomestones of verity.
    * A second currency, Allagan tomestones of creation, will be available approximately four weeks after the start of official service for Stormblood.
  • Allagan tomestones of lore and Allagan tomestones of scripture are no longer obtainable. However, players will retain all currently held Allagan tomestones.

    The NPC Auriana in Revenant's Toll will now give players the option to exchange Allagan tomestones of lore and Allagan tomestones of scripture for Allagan tomestones of poetics.

    Moreover, items that could be purchased in exchange for Allagan tomestones of lore and Allagan tomestones of scripture, can now be purchased using Allagan tomestones of poetics.

    All trials and duties where Allagan tomestones of lore and Allagan tomestones of scripture could be obtained will now offer Allagan tomestones of poetics, the number of which has been adjusted.
  • Allagan tomestones of esoterics have been removed from the game.

The Duty Finder has been adjusted as follows:

  • The Raid Finder interface has been combined with the Duty Finder interface.

  • The Frontline Freelancer option under Duty Finder Settings has been enabled by default.
  • Changes to Duty Finder Settings will be carried over when forming a party with other players.
  • Item level requirements will no longer be applied when Undersized Party is enabled.
  • Players can now use the Undersized Party option to participate in duties introduced after the release of Heavensward.
  • Language settings will now be ignored when matching players for The Feast.

The Raid Finder now only lists trials and duties introduced with patch 4.0.

  • The duties associated with each Duty Roulette category have been adjusted.
  • The type of Allagan tomestones received from each Duty Roulette category has been adjusted.

The Circles of Answering, an expansion of Stone, Sky, Sea, has been added.

The Circles of Answering offers trials tailored to various high-level duties in which players will be tasked with destroying a level 70 striking dummy.To access the Circles of Answering, players must first complete the following quest:

The following additions and adjustments have been made to the Palace of the Dead.

  • Any role actions assigned prior to entering the Palace of the Dead will be available immediately upon entry. In accordance with this change, players will be unable to access role actions they did not learn prior to entering, even if they meet the level requirements inside the Palace of the Dead.
    • Players can now recruit a cross-world party to enter the Palace of the Dead.
      * When registering to enter, all party members on all Worlds must be in the South Shroud.
    • The strength of certain boss enemies has been adjusted.
    • New items have been added to silver-trimmed sacks and gold-trimmed sacks.
    • Sustaining potion, a new item specific to Palace of the Dead, has been added.

      Players can purchase sustaining potions from E-Una-Kotor in South Shroud (X:25.0 Y:20.6) in exchange for Gelmorran potsherds.
    • Firecrest and glass pumpkin are now available for purchase from E-Una-Kotor in South Shroud (X:25.0 Y:20.6).

    Changing classes or jobs outside of sanctuaries will no longer incur a penalty to action cooldowns.

    PvP

    Substantial revisions have been made to the PvP system.

    The PvP system has undergone a number of significant changes including adjustments to character attributes, actions, and the introduction of PvP-specific UI elements. Please read below for further information.

    The names of the following PvP duties have been changed.

    In addition, the purchase and registration of Heavensward is now required to participate in Fields of Glory (Shatter).

    The following PvP instances have been removed:

    • The Fold (Light Party)
    • The Feast (4 on 4 - Light Party)
    • The Borderland Ruins (Slaughter)

    In accordance with this change, party rankings have also been removed.

    The following adjustments have been made to PvP instances:

    • The Feast, Frontline, and duels now require a job at level 30 or higher.
    • Instances that allow players to change jobs will no longer allow the changing of classes.
    • Attributes will no longer be level-based, and instead use fixed PvP values.
    • Level sync and item level sync will no longer be applied.
    • Action points and action enhancements have been removed.
    • Action presets have been removed.
    • Morale has been removed.
    • The following combat elements no longer function in PvP areas:
      • Auto-attack
      • Block
      • Parry
      • Critical hits
      • Direct hits
    • The subcommand Attack can no longer be used.
    • Job-based attack and defense bonuses have been removed.
    • Spells will no longer be interrupted upon taking damage.
    • The damage penalty incurred by ranged DPS classes due to their distance from a target has been removed.
    • Players will now gain immunity to the following detrimental effects for a fixed period of time after they wear off:
      • Stun
      • Heavy
      • Bind
      • Slow
      • Silence
      • Sleep

    PvE actions can no longer be used in PvP areas. Instead, players will now use a completely separate set of actions created specifically for PvP.

    By accessing your PvP profile under Character in the Main Menu, you can review a list of job actions, additional actions, and traits.

    PvP Job Actions

    A set of actions that can only be used in PvP areas.

    Certain jobs also have actions that are used together to form combos. Upon activating the initial action, its icon on the hotbar will be replaced by the subsequent actions in the combo automatically.

    PvP Additional Actions

    Players may choose up to two additional actions to supplement their job actions.

    PvP Traits

    Players may choose up to three traits to enhance their character.

    PvP hotbars have been added.

    These hotbars will be set automatically upon entering a PvP area. Moreover, you must be changed to a job before PvP actions can be registered to them.
    * The position of PvP hotbars is shared with that of their PvE counterparts.
    * When entering these areas as a class, including Disciples of the Hand and Land, only shared hotbars will be replaced with PvP hotbars.

    The HP and attack power of monsters and objects that appear in PvP instances have been adjusted.

    The limit break gauge in the Borderland Ruins (Secure) has been replaced with the adrenaline rush gauge.

    With this change, Adrenaline Rush can be used in Wolves' Den Pier and all PvP content.

    Each adrenaline rush action will now have its own unique icon.

    Opening the Character window will now display a PvP-specific character profile, wherein you may change gear and select your character's title.

    Unlike the Character window in PvE, you may only view levels for Disciples of War and Magic classes and jobs.

    System messages will now display to notify players that they have entered a PvP area.

    A guide offering a brief introduction to PvP will now display when entering Wolves' Den Pier for the first time.

    PvE actions can not be used in PvP areas, including Wolves' Den Pier, even when registered to your PvP hotbar.

    Chocobo companions and pets can no longer be summoned at Wolves' Den Pier.

    How to Spearfish:

    1. Equip your spearfishing gig, then dive underwater and use the actions "Fathom" or "Shark Eye" to identify the location of teeming waters.

    2. Target the teeming waters.

    3. After target the teeming waters, wait for bubbles appear.

    4. When bubbles appear, a sea creature will approach and you can use your gig to spear it.

    5. Successfully speared fish will be added to your inventory.

    6. In the event you fail to spear anything, you may try again so long as the teeming waters have not been fully depleted.

    7. Replacing the head of your gig will allow you to spear a larger variety of fish.

    You can quit spearfishing at any time by hitting the escape key, the cancel button, or using the cancel action.
    Similar to fishing, all fish you spear will be recorded in your Fishing Log, Fish Guide, and your Records.

    * When certain conditions are met, swimming shadows will appear in teeming waters.

    There are three types of gig heads, each of which will allow you to spear different kinds of fish. Players can swap between gig heads using the Gig Head action. Gigs can be purchased from NPCs upon unlocking spearfishing.

    Legendary nodes and unspoiled locations will no longer disappear while players are in the midst of gathering.

    If another gathering location appears during this time, it will be displayed on the minimap and in the chat log.

    The duration of legendary nodes and unspoiled locations added during the Patch 3.X cycle will be increased from 1 hour to 2 hours Eorzea time.

    The time of day during which legendary nodes appear has been changed. They can now be found during both mornings and evenings (Eorzea time).

    In accordance with this change, the legendary node at which certain items can be found has been changed.

    Items gathered from ephemeral gathering points used for aetherial reduction are no longer hidden. 

    The types of items that can be obtained via aetherial reduction, and the frequency with which they appear has been adjusted.

    Collectability of crafted items has been adjusted.

    Where before the collectability of crafted items was equivalent to the quality of the item, collectability will now equal 1/10th of the item's quality. This change also applies to all exchangeable items.

    Please note that this change has been made only to reduce the number of digits to represent an item's collectability. This will not affect the value of collectable items or the difficulty in producing them.

    * The collectability of items obtained before this change will remain the same. Exchanging them, however, will not result in any losses.
    * This change does not apply to collectable items obtained from gathering.

    When you finish crafting an item, its collectability will now display in the progress window.

    Collectable items deemed to be High Quality when gathered will have a higher collectability.

    The higher your perception, the higher the collectability of the item you gathered will be.

    The rarity of collectable items gathered by miners and botanists even with lower perception has been increased.

    The probability of obtaining collectable items when wear exceeds the limit has been increased from 10% to 30%.

    In accordance with the changes made above, the miner/botanist actions Deep Breath and Last Ditch have been removed.

    Players can change specialties up to three times a week.

    This resets every Tuesday at 8:00 (GMT).

    The following changes have been made to the Crafting Log:

    • New Categories have been added.
    • The Special Recipe category has been reorganized. Players will now be able to view the Special Recipes and Level-based Recipes separately by switching between tabs.
    • A new filter to hide completed recipes has been added. (This filter will only affect recipes that have been marked as complete.)
    • The search function is now in a separate tab.
    • The position where the class icon displays has been changed.
    • Players can now switch between tabs displaying search results and search history.

    New gathering points have been added.

    New fishing holes have been added.

    * Please note that not all locations listed in the Fishing Guide will be accessible in patch 4.0.

    New Tomes of Regional Folklore have been added.

    New items that can be used for aetherial reduction have been added.

    The camera angle when crafting as a Lalafell has been adjusted.

    Rowena's House of Splendors Collectable Appraisers and Scrip Exchange are now also available in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah.

    EXP that can be gained for players over Level 60 delivering collectable items under Level 60 to a House of Splendors Exchange is now be capped at 10,000.

    The following changes and additions have been made to crafters' and gathers' scrips:

    • The yellow crafters' scrip and yellow gatherers' scrip currencies have been added for Disciples of the Hand and Disciples of the Land that are Level 70.
      Players can begin exchanging their collectable items for these scrips at Splendors Exchanges starting at level 70 and can have up to a maximum of 2,000 at any given time.

      * Yellow crafters' scrips and yellow gatherers' scrips have no weekly cap.
      * Yellow crafters' scrips and yellow gatherers' scrips are scheduled to be added approximately two weeks after the start of official service for Stormblood.
    • Blue crafters' scrips and blue gatherers' scrips are no longer obtainable. In accordance with this change, all activities which yield blue crafters' or blue gatherers' scrips will now yield red crafters' scrips and red gatherers' scrips.

      Blue crafters' scrips and blue gatherers' scrips can now be exchanged for red crafters' scrips and red gatherers' scrips at the scrip exchange in Idyllshire (X:5.7 Y:7.1) and Revenant's Toll (X:22.4 Y:6.7).
    • The weekly limit cap on red crafters' scrips and red gatherers' scrips has been removed.

    Merchant titles have been amended to better explain their function.

    In accordance with this change, special trader icons have been added to the minimap.

    The following changes have been made to vendors:

    • Shields will now be sold under the Weapons tab.
    • Only primary and secondary tools will now display under Tools.
      * Tools aside from primary and secondary tools have been moved to Items.

    Level 50 weapons, armor, and accessories have been added to vendors in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah.

    Level 60 weapons, armor, and accessories have been added to vendors in Ishgard.

    New items have been added to the inventory of Calamity Salvagers.

    System

    A market board has been added to Kugane.

    In accordance with the addition of a new market board, reduced tax rates have been adjusted.

    The following additions and adjustments have been made to retainers:

    • The level cap for retainers has been raised to 70.
    • Retainers can now be registered to the Kugane market.
    • Retainers can now be assigned samurai and red mage jobs.
      To assign samurai and red mage jobs to a retainer the following requirements must be met:
      * Please note that in addition to the requirements listed below, players must also possess a copy of Modern Vocation.
      • They cannot be registered as a job. Otherwise, they must be reset.
      • Retainers must be a Disciples of War or Magic at level 50 or higher.
      • Players must be at level 50 or higher in the job they wish to assign their retainers.
      If a summoned retainer is selling items, an icon will now display to indicate the city in which they are selling said items.

    • The Retainer Character window display has been adjusted.

    Retainer ventures have been adjusted as follows:

    • New objectives have been added to delivery missions and exploration ventures.
    • Retainer ventures and quick explorations have been adjusted so that players do not obtain certain unnecessary items.
    • New achievements and titles have been added.

      * Achievement titles have been omitted to prevent spoilers.

      The extreme primal battles added with patch 4.0 now count towards achievements which require the completion of high-level full party duty achievements.

      Following the removal of the Fold, conditions for obtaining related achievements have been adjusted as follows:

      When players acquire new actions or traits associated with the job gauges, a tutorial message will be displayed. These messages can be re-read in the Actions & Traits interface.

      The number of job gauge points required to use actions will be displayed above action icons when they are on your hotbar.

      In line with this change, the color of TP cost numbers has been adjusted.

      The party finder has been adjusted as follows:

      • The layout and content of the Party Finder window has been adjusted. Moreover, the layout of the open recruiter name search and advanced search has also been adjusted.
      • Players can now specify the following:

        • Conditions
        • Duty Finder Settings
          * These settings only apply to the Party Finder. Players must also set these criteria on the Duty Finder.

      • Players can adjust search filters for all the newly added search options.

      • Party recruitment information will now be sorted according to duty.
        Players can choose to sort results in ascending or descending order
      • If a party is recruiting for a duty you have yet to unlock, the duty name will be displayed as "Locked Duty."
      • Players can now set a maximum average item level of 999.
      • When recruiting using the Party Finder, the openings with the most specific role restrictions will be prioritized. For example, if a warrior joins a party that has an empty slot for a tank and one for a warrior, they will fill the warrior opening instead of the general tank opening.
      • When joining a party via the Party Finder, the name of the duty listed in the recruitment window will now display in the chat log.
      • A prompt confirming players wish to cancel party recruitment will now be displayed when registering for a duty via the Duty Finder.

      Players are now able to invite characters from the same World to join their cross-World party.

      The display of fly text has been adjusted as follows:

      • Critical hits
      • Direct hits
      • Direct hits and critical hits

      New waymarks have been added.

      Progress bars and action names are now displayed on the enmity list.

      Display settings can be adjusted in the Character Configuration interface.

      The Actions & Traits interface has been adjusted as follows:

      • The Additional tab for Disciples of War and Magic has been changed to the Role tab.
        Players may now select any role action they have unlocked at their current level.

      • Actions you have yet to obtain will now also be displayed in the Job tab.
      • Fisher actions have been added to the Additional tab.
      • The PvP tab has been removed.

      The following features have been added to group pose.

      • Battle actions and and item motions can now be repeated.
      • Related effects will now be paused when disabling motions.
        * In accordance with this change, any status applied when motions are disabled will no longer be displayed. Players must enable motions before applying a status.
        * Certain effects will not be paused.
      • Players can now choose to display battle actions and item motions under Effect/Motion/Subject Settings in the Group Pose Settings interface.

      • New color filters and screen effect patterns have been added for group pose and idling camera.

      The world map will now change depending on whether you are in Eorzea or the Far East.

      The region map has been expanded. Players can now check quests they have accepted in other areas and use aetherytes.

      If there is an NPC in an area you cannot check on the map related to a quest you have accepted, the quest icon will now appear at the entrance to that area.

      The functionality of the map when opened using a gamepad has been adjusted as follows:

      • The cursor position when the map is opened has been adjusted.
      • The location of shortcut buttons has been adjusted.
      • The cursor no longer moves to the buttons to the left of the map after clicking confirm.

      A main scenario guide has been added which displays what players need to do to advance the main story.

      The guide shows the location of the next main scenario quest on the map as well as relevant sidequests.
      Display settings can be adjusted in the Character Configuration interface.

      Armoire categories will now be displayed as icons.

      Players can now switch between viewing NQ and HQ attributes on the Item Comparison window.

      * This is done using the same key players press to show normal or high quality item details when viewing item help text.

      Players who have the Main Menu set to mouse mode type can now register menu options to the hotbar.

      The currency list has been adjusted following the removal and addition of new currencies.

      The Character window has been adjusted as follows:

      • Players can no longer allocate attribute points.
      • The display of attributes has been adjusted.

      • The Resistances tab has been removed.
      • The Classes tab is now the Classes/Jobs tab. This tab has been divided into categories for Disciples of War and Magic and Disiciples of the Hand and Land.

      • When acquiring a new job, the display showing class information will change to show job information.

      The number of items that can be stored in each section of the Armoury Chest has been increased from 25 to 35.

      The number of items players can carry has been increased from 100 to 140.

      In accordance with this change, the inventory grid has been expanded.

      Minions summoned when players log out will now automatically be re-summoned the next time players log in.

      * This information is stored locally, so minions will not be automatically re-summoned if you log in on a different client.

      The Temple Leves and Guildleves categories under the Levequests tab of the Journal have been combined.

      The Repairs window has been adjusted as follows:

      • G7 has been added to Dark Matter (Bag) for level 61-70 gear.
      • The durability of repairable gear is now shown as a percentage.

      The Materia Melding window has been adjusted as follows:

      • Following the removal of grade 2-5 carbonized matter, carbonized matter has been removed from the Materia Melding confirmation window.
      • Following changes to battle attributes, available materia enhancements have been adjusted.
      • New sections have been added to the Materia Melding window and Item Help window and to account for the addition of grade VI materia.
      • Players can no longer press the Meld button when their success rate is 0%.

      The following information has been added to the Contact List.

      • An icon indicating the player's class/job when they were added.
      • The duty players were registered for when they joined your party.

      The content found in Active Help has been adjusted to reflect changes in 4.0.

      PlayStation®4 Display Settings have been adjusted as follows:

      • The Standard option has been removed.

      • A "PS4 Pro" setting has been added.
        Players using this setting will have their game displayed at a higher resolution than the standard "PS4" setting.
        * This setting will only be applied when a PlayStation®4 Pro is connected to a 4K-compatible TV.
      • Players are now able to set the user interface size.
        In addition to pre-existing UI settings, players can now set their UI size to be either 100% or 150%.

      Character and object quantity has been adjusted for the Windows DirectX 9 and Mac versions in order to improve performance.

      • An issue wherein copying the layout in HUD Layout Mode under certain conditions may have caused the window to become misaligned.

      • An issue wherein certain samurai and red mage weapons cannot be exchanged for brass sky pirate spoils via Spoils Trader NPCs.
      • An issue wherein help text for the PvP action "Concentrate" does not list Bind as one of the detrimental effects the barrier prevents.
      • An issue wherein the help text for the PvP actions "Benefic" and "Benefic II" states that the actions "Reduce Lightspeed by 2.5s." This should be "Reduces Lightspeed recast time by 2.5s."
      • An issue wherein the level 56 samurai ability, Hissatsu: Yaten is misnamed Hissatsu: Gyoten, which is also the name of the level 54 samurai ability. Both abilities function properly, but the only way to tell them apart is by their icon and help text. Details of these abilities can also be confirmed in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Job Guide.
