How to Host an Event
1. Planning Your Event
What kind of event are you planning?
Whether you plan to meet with fellow adventurers in or outside of the game, you're free to create any type of event you'd like. A successful event should be both inviting and well planned to ensure everyone has a fun time.
* You must be logged in to the Lodestone to create an event.
There are four requirements when creating an event listing.
- Title
- Event Time
- Party Size (Events can have up to 24 participants including the host.)
For events involving dungeons or raids, it is recommended that roles are decided upon ahead of time. - Event Description (Include a detailed outline of what you'll be doing.)
Creating a set of rules for participants can help things go smoothly.
Example
Title | Scenic Tour of Eorzea |
---|---|
Event Time | 15/3/2015 10:00 to 14:00 |
Party Size | 8 Players |
Event Description | Enjoy the sights of Eorzea? Then be at Mor Dhona this Saturday at 7 p.m., and join us for a scenic tour of the realm! From silly snapshots to serious screenshots, all you need to participate is a passion for photography, and a suggestion for where we should go! |
It's always important to include as many details as possible in your description. This may include a meeting place and time, or a clear and concise outline of what will take place during your event.
Privacy Settings
When creating an event, you will have the opportunity to adjust its privacy settings. The following options are available:
Friends / Free Company / All players on my World / All
The Event & Party Recruitment feature can be used for activities both in and outside of the game, so please set your privacy settings accordingly.
2. Registering Your Event and Accepting Applicants
Once an event is created, other players will be able to search for it and request to participate. You can keep in touch with those looking to join your event using the Applicants and Comments tabs of your event page.
How to Handle Applications
1. Check the status of your event.
A list of all characters who have joined your event, their roles and current status, as well as the current party size can be viewed on your event page.
2. Accept or decline applications.
There are two types of event settings: "Open" and "Approval Required." When set to Open, players who join will be automatically registered for an event. When set to Approval Required, the host will have to approve individual players to participate.
Below the event description, you will find the "Applicants" and "Comments" tabs, the latter of which displays by default. Selecting the Applicants tab will show the status of all players who have applied to join your event. Applications will be received as a message that the host can reply to. When replying to these messages, the host can choose to approve or decline an application.
* Please be aware that declining an application is final.
To contact a player before accepting or declining their application, select Reply Only.
3. Hosting Your Event
When you host an event, you're also participating, so be sure to enjoy yourself with all those in attendance.
Player Harassment |
---|
If you or members of your party experience verbal or play-related harassment, please proceed to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Support Centre for assistance.
* Square Enix assumes no responsibility for any incidents that may occur during player-run events held outside of the game. |
FINAL FANTASY XIV strives to offer players an enjoyable, memorable gaming experience. You and anyone who joins your event is encouraged to leave comments and create blog entries to share your experiences with others.
